No, but that doesn't preclude him from being THE BEST HORSE IN THE WORLD, according to Mike Watchmaker.

Great Mills was in the Indiana race too. Explain why Churchill is running this race for 100k when Indiana's was 200k and actually had 13 entries with 10 runners? At best, the Jefferson Cup will have five starters, barring no other late scratches...and no one from Indiana scratched to run at Churchill.

Why would anyone in their right mind run for half the money and have to face Banned?

Quote from a trainer in the Foster:

"I’ve got a good rider and I feel good about it.”

Guess the trainer and rider.

ellpol 06-16-2011 07:38 AM

Wasn't the Clark last November?

Yes, thanks...since edited.

NTamm1215 06-16-2011 09:22 AM

I'm perfectly willing to be wrong about it but I'm betting Regal Ransom in the Foster.

VOL JACK 06-16-2011 09:38 AM

I would like Pool Play if Casse had named Borel instead of Mena.

Not sure how Calvin gets left in the showers with his record/reputation in big dirt route races at CD.

I'm betting him too.

(So you probably are wrong)

ateamstupid 06-16-2011 12:36 PM

To me, this is Regal Ransom's best chance to win a Grade 1.

hockey2315 06-16-2011 10:01 PM

I'm on the bandwagon too. . . Guess any hope of him being 6-1+ is gone.

VOL JACK 06-16-2011 11:28 PM

To all of Regal Ransom's fan club:

How do you see him winning this race?
Are you seeing a merry-go-round race?

I definitely think he has a good chance to be loose on the lead.
I am hopeful that his poor performance in the Clark last fall (also loose on the lead) will lead to him being a decent price here, and he appears to be in much better form going into this race than he was last October/November. I thought his last race was quite good. From the comments here, however, it looks like the price might not end up being that great.

I've also been impressed with Flat Out since his return and think he has a decent shot to hit the board at a price.

Kasept 06-18-2011 05:04 PM

There is no stopping McPeek. 2 more stake wins today...

Dahoss 06-18-2011 05:32 PM

Our older horses are embarrassing.

....or he'll finish last.

Didn't see the Foster. Cliff notes?

Because he is the most overrated jockey on the planet?

I hope you played this horse despite lacking Bo-rail.

Synopsis:
I hope horses like Blind Luck and HDG consider running in the Classic, because the older male division is not so hot. Heck, a euro could come over and would be better than have of these.

As of this point, it will be very disappointing if there aren't more than 14 entries for the BC Classic come Nov. 1st.

Someone from Ascot today is supposedly coming over. When they announced it, I didn't even think twice about it... I immediately thought anyone from the outside has a chance given the group we're looking at. And then the Clark runs, and wow.

helicopter11 06-18-2011 06:03 PM

Pool Play never ran on dirt before and wins the Foster.

I think Banned is my favorite horse in training. I hope he's able to get a Grade 1 soon.

That's what I get for asking a legitimate question to a board full of cynics. :p

randallscott35 06-18-2011 07:15 PM

Regal Ransom last.

randallscott35 06-18-2011 07:16 PM

Full disclosure, didn't bet it...would have bet Giant Oak.

He might be the best turfer in the country.

Pool Play was a big price but far from impossible against this group. I bet MI, which pretty much guaranteed him running 2nd in a photo, but had PP in my busted P4 (didn't like the 1 in the 11th at all.) Never tried dirt but had run well at the distance on synth and had a reasonably good dirt pedigree and a potentially good pace setup.

Yeah the thing about Pool Play is simply why wouldn't he have tried dirt after all those years, it wasn't so much a belief that this was a heavy hitters Grade 1.
