Aqueduct delays

What is going on?

OTM Al 01-08-2011 03:09 PM

Before the sixth, Junior Alvarado was kicked and injured in the paddock. This resulted in some issues. Suggest we wait to see what's up before jumping to conclusions.

Alan07 01-08-2011 03:48 PM

NYRA adverts walkout

my miss storm cat 01-08-2011 04:04 PM

That's awful.

At least it's nice to know that David Cohen has a brain and a heart.

Hope Junior is feeling better. I don't blame them for being pissed.

After Saturday's delayed response to provide assistance to injured jockey Junior Alvarado, the New York Racing Association implemented new changes Sunday to protect riders.

Exactly. No excuse. "No one responded" to their radio calls? WTF?

Sounds like a vastly improved plan :tro:

Alan07 01-22-2011 02:19 PM

Another delay before today's 7th.

Travis Stone 01-22-2011 03:32 PM

Oh the humanity....!!!

This is horse racing, delays happen.

Alan07 01-22-2011 06:01 PM

We wouldn't be complaining if they gave us explainions.

You do realize the initial thread is weeks old and NYRA made steps to ensure what happened with Alvarado never happens again...and they did it the very next day.

Sometimes stuff happens. Not saying what happened isn't a big deal and should have never happened. but it really wasn't a NYRA thing, and they responded almost immediately to fix the problem, which is all you can really ask for.

Got it. Never knew about the original thread. Thanks. Post deleted.

So, let me get this straight:

NYRA/TLG figured that it wasn't enough for you to have their a ss over at PA and that you were also needed over here?

Not to worry, at least there are still some NYRA detracters over at PA. HERE, NYRA can do no wrong.

So, really, you might be out of a job soon.

Then again, NYRA f u ck s up A LOT.

P.S. I'd watch my back: appears as if Nick Tam is after your job.

I remember when you used to come on here and offer handicapping opinions and the thing was, they were good. What you've become now is a shame. Your hit and run statements are getting worse with each passing one.

Actually, I got into a discussion with Mr. Byk and he encouraged me to participate. I remember you from PA as well. You still mad at me for mocking you after your "Curlin can't lose" statement in the Belmont? From comments around here, your handicapping prowess hasn't changed though....nor your opinion of yourself.

Not sure why you are mocking the statement I made though. Both words come directly from Latin, the base word being "verto" meaning "I turn". Adding the prefix "ad" meaning "to" or "toward" of course gives the meaning of literaly turing toward something or figuratively being in agreement. Adding the prefix "a(b)" adds "away to the verb. Thus avert means to turn something away or more figuratively to avoid a situation. There, more info than any fat sheet ever

Actually I agree with Nick on his handicapping, say what you want but Fat Man is one of the better handicappers around these parts.

His supposed handicapping ability is one of the biggest jokes going. His opinion is okay and about half as good as he thinks. His understanding of trips is above average, but again, nowhere near how good he thinks it is.

Good handicappers don't pick and choose and post 66 straight losing bets. It doesn't happen. But instead of trying to figure out what he's missing that he would post 66 straight losers, he threw in the towel and took to hit and run cheapshots. Real impressive.

Oh, he was pretty sharp when he first came on PA as well, but eventually he was never wrong and anyone that disagreed for any reason was attacked. I could care less if the guy was as good as he thinks he is as I want nothing more to do with him. Done with this as it has nothing to do with the topic.

I think it would be difficult, actually, to intentionally pick 66 straight losers.

I tend to avoid criticizing others handicapping as karma is a fickle bit<ch and can be unrelenting in her torture.

If I lose, it's because I did something wrong. Not because I told it like it is about a hit and run douche bag.

Seriously, what did OTM Al or NTamm do wrong in this thread?
