Brass Hat!!!

Great job by the old guy running them down late to win the Sycamore.

Just warms your heart when you have the 54-1 place horse in a Pick 3.

Riot 10-21-2010 04:18 PM

He looked great doing it - congrats old guy! Well done, Calvin.

Nothing like a horse running on his natural surface. . .

I'm surprised you're in favor of him running still.

What a silly thing to say. Why?

paisjpq 10-21-2010 06:24 PM

That horse is part of the family...there is no reason not to run him if he's healthy. So happy for all of them.

hockey2315 10-21-2010 06:28 PM

Obviously I have no problem with him running. . . Probably shouldn't have mentioned it since this comes up every time he runs. Just messing w/ Riot.

Riot is a veterinarian with a deep interest in equine sports medicine and who is all in favor of American race horses having long, healthy, productive careers.

Riot rules u all. Don't be stupid. Riot knows what is best for all. Riot has your best interest at heart. Riot rules, you all because you are too simple to get it. Do not question Riot - that path only leads to failure. Agree with Riot and she will make sure you are cared for. Riot is the only way- do not be stupid

The current behind-the-scene Dee Tee survey seems to be saying I'm not even in the running for those with "ego issues" on this thread ... :D

I prefer to look at the results of the people that say stuff out in the open. This thread is a good example. Or really any thread you participate in.

And still, congrats to the Bradleys and Brass Hat!

Just an FYI. If we're going by behind the scenes talk, my pm box can confirm you are as popular behind the scenes as you are on the board.
But isn't it kind of ironic you are discussing people with junior high mentality, considering your posts in this thread?

As a keeper of weasels, my ferrets resent being compared in any way to Riot.

Pedigree Ann 10-23-2010 06:25 PM

I was a backer of Brass Hat when he was entered in the Rushaway as a 3yo; I picked him in the Citgo pick 6 contest, as a maiden. Made some nice coin on him in the Ohio and Indiana Derbies, was devastated when he was hurt in Texas on the pre-BC card. When he came back, I was sure he was going to turn into one of the ones; the new Kelso or the new John Henry. The East Coast sorts dismissed his chances in the Donn H, so I got a nice price when he ran away from Suave, Magna Graduate, et. al. And then his race in Dubai! Again, he ran better than anybody gave him a chance to.

After Dubai, it all seemed to fall apart for Brass Hat. They took away his second place for trace amounts and he looked flat in the Foster first back. Then he was hurt and he has never been the horse he was beforehand. He was so good before that second injury; I miss what he could have been - one of the kings of the older horse ranks.

chucklestheclown 10-24-2010 02:43 AM

He is a pretty awesome horse. The kind I'm glad I won't have to wonder about on BC day.
