What is she going to eat each day leading up to the announcement that they are passing on the Breeders Cup?

That's what so many people don't get, as to why I harp on and on about idiots.

It must be stopped!!

slotdirt 10-13-2010 03:37 PM

Looks like that site is actually operated by Breeders Cup. When do you think they're going to come out with Haynesfield2010.com?

In my heart of hearts, I agree.

I just don't think she'll be going...

I hear people say that, and I'm not entirely clear why. I think they believe she's better on dirt than synthetic and are looking forward to proving it in a dirt BCC. I don't think traveling once is a problem, but I'd be nervous if she'd just come from the Beldame. It's just a feeling I get that she'd not handle it well, and maybe that's why they didn't take her around after all. Wasn't the first race post-Apple Blossom this year a squeaker? We get that she likes the distance. Why would they bail? I don't think they think she's gonna lose. Is there something that looks less than great about her that I've missed out on? I don't get how they get HOY if one of the other contenders wins it, and she doesn't bother to show.

Danzig 10-13-2010 08:54 PM

i'm figuring that holly park and oak tree will come up with some special race to send her off in. that the mosses will say they're cali thru and thru, and they want zenyatta to end her career there. that she's won a bcc, she owes no one, and they want to treat her fans to seeing her one more time, blah blah blah. she'll win some bs race against more pseudo competition, win her 20th...

and then the mosses and her fans will bitch and moan when she doesn't win hoy for all her efforts this year.

that's my prediction.

i'd imagine they're hoping for an upset in the classic. if quality road and blame don't win, she's got a shot at hoy without showing. she shows, and loses? there goes hoy, and there goes the record for wins at the same time. they want that record more than anything.

letswastemoney 10-13-2010 09:46 PM

That would be a heartbreaking annoncement on the website Zenyatta2010.com if they announce she's not running.

"We...uhh....are sorry to say that...there was no point to this website after all...."

The tards that comment over there wouldn't care. They'd just move on to talking about what an awesome mommy Zenyatta will be!!!

I can only answer this for myself my dear...

It's just a feeling.

Maybe it's the cynic in me... the pessimist.

It's easy for all of us to say well I can see them thinking this and that but hey we are here to discuss things, right?

I can see them being afraid. They changed their mind(s) about retirement... I can see them changing it about this too.

Fear that she will lose, that her luck will run out... it's funny cause i AM a fan of hers and yet i realize that saying these things can be taken in a sarcastic way.

I mean no disrespect or anything...

I can just see them not wanting to push it and any little thing being used as a reason for retirement.

You forgot something.

This seems "spot on."

Smooth Operator 10-14-2010 09:51 AM

Looking forward to hearing about the big mare's breeze later this morning

Some really bizarre posts here

Can't imagine anything other than injury, illness, or horrible track condition (like '07 when SA's 'roid-freak freaked in the soup) will keep her out of the gate.

cakes44 10-14-2010 09:58 AM

Why would track condition matter? Because the horse could possibly lose, like every other horse whose trainers will keep them in regardless of conditions?

slotdirt 10-14-2010 10:38 AM

Also freaking in the "soup" were Midnight Lute, War Pass, and Indian Blessing. I wonder where Smoothie's accusations towards the trainers of those three horses are? Selective amnesia, perhaps?

Despite the weather it was by far the most formful BC I have seen. The horses that should have won did. (Redboard alert) The only winner I missed all day was Lahudood or whatever that KMac horses name was. Sadly the bankroll I had back then did not provide a massive takedown. Great times though!

I tossed Lahudood out of all bets because of all the nonsense KMac was saying about the horse hating anything but firm turf, and absolutely loved Honey Ryder so I had everything centered on her.

Screw Lahudood.

Smooth Operator 10-14-2010 12:21 PM

Equibase reporting a 1:02.60 5f breeze for that dual BC champion mare

Looks good … heard she came home quickly

Would like to see Mike drill her in 1:13 (plus or minus a couple ticks) going six in the next one (Oct. 22).

By the way, just glad we got to see the real ('roid-free) Curlin in '08.

Nuthin special … didn't seem to have that same acceleration (shocking) … and was clearly no match for superior Euros in the BCC…

Indian Charlie 10-14-2010 12:24 PM

lol.

Screw Lahudood.

Sorry to hear that. I, on the other hand, smashed the $hit out of that race (not as much as I wouldve liked) and singled in multi's.

Thanks Lahudood.

I think sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't.

When he throws absurdly idiotic quips like that one out, I think he's trying to bait us.

On the other hand, I believe he is genuine in his love for the big mare, and if he had a chance to let Z strap one on, he would let her.

Smooth Operator 10-15-2010 09:32 AM

Best part about that '08 BCC was when Curlin made his move on the turn and took the lead in upper stretch (of course the internet geniuses will tell you that he didn't handle the track … LOL).

Fans of the overrated colt thought he had it in the bag at that point … LMAO

Can't tell you how much I enjoyed that particular horse racing contest.

Right up there with this year's New Orleans Ladies...

Indian Charlie 10-15-2010 09:52 AM

You see?

It's just too hard to tell if Smoothie Operator is really a complete tard, or if he's just trying to bait us.

Dahoss 10-15-2010 11:20 AM

That was obviously bait. But there can be no denying he's an idiot when he tries to speak about the sport honestly.

Gotta go with Cakes on this one. Screw her. I too loved HR in that race.

Alan07 10-15-2010 01:08 PM

And he's pissing off the voters too...

Smooth Operator 10-23-2010 11:50 PM

Nice long work (7f) for the big mare last Friday

Should've taken a lot of fitness from that one as the track was playing slower due to precip

That CD strip might feel like the Pacific Coast Highway to her…

Don't you worry your empty little head about that. I have it on good authority that she's a better dirt horse, plus, even if it was like the PCH, she probably would take to concrete even better.
