Goldlikova upset

It happens when you run all over facing the best in the world.

Cannon Shell 08-15-2010 02:17 PM

She lost? Oh I guess she isn't any good because she isn't undefeated. What ??she had lost before? Why did we think she was good anyway?

Did she have to cross the Alps? That can take a lot out of them.

the_fat_man 08-15-2010 02:20 PM

What? No perfect drafting trip like she's accustomed to getting in the BC?

Haven't seen the race but I suspect Princess had to do some work here.

letswastemoney 08-15-2010 02:21 PM

She lost? ::swallows suicide pills::

Thunder Gulch 08-15-2010 02:21 PM

Apparently the turf was really soft. Those owners/trainer must be nuts to run under anything less than optimum conditions and risk losing. She's done.

I understand now how you view everyone in the game as a ******.

You have the ability to disect a race without actually even watching it. I mean compared to that we are all retards or perhaps more likely, mere mortals for actually having to see a race before being able to determine who got perfect trips.

pointman 08-15-2010 02:29 PM

This proves it, Zenyatta is the best horse to ever live and got screwed out of HOY last year!

Watch the replays of her BC wins, then come back and tell me she didn't get perfect trips. I realize you think you're the expert in all things here but I kick you ass when it comes to race watching. I know that sucks for you but deal with it. Open you mind up a bit. Oh wait, you're a trainer. Instead, how about going and gelding a few?

Like I said how can we possibly hope to compare to someone who doesnt even need to watch the race to tell what happened.

I hate making assumptions about people that I don't know but I would have to guess that like most boorish people who brag about things like "race watching ability", you not only wouldn't know which end of a horse eats, but that you are probably scared of them as well.

Wanna bet this no race watching, serial gelding trainer finishes ahead of you in the Dee Tee Saratoga handicapping contest?

And if you were in last years contest that would be, again...

Who cares? There's no money involved there and I'm struggling with time issues playing 5 other tracks. The contest is not exactly high on my list of priorities.

If you're up at SAR, head over to Ward's barn and see if he has any non-gelded males.

Oh my … after all the superlatives being thrown around the board about this mare … with some even using her in a pathetic attempt to diss the great unbeaten Cali mare … she gets whacked by open lengths by a 3yo.

Nice...

Ya know.. I really love Zenyatta too, but if she ever gets beat, the only reason I will be happy is to shut you up.

Smooth Operator 08-15-2010 04:47 PM

Don't you have another load of laundry to do, Arletta?

Nice...

At least she didn't scratch because of a little rain.

If I posted a story about Loose Screw, a maiden winner today at Louisiana Downs, how can long would it take to twist it into a Zenyatta thread?

AlreadyHome 08-15-2010 04:58 PM

lost

here it is Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville

How long would it be until Smooth Operator posted? That would answer your question.

randallscott35 08-15-2010 05:08 PM

It will be nice when people stop and realize they aren't machines. They have off days...Don't we all.

From espnuk

"Goldikova, who went off as the 6-5 favorite with her two pacesetting stablemates, Only Green and Saying, has always had the seven-furlong Prix de la Foret on Oct. 3 set as her final trial for a third consecutive Breeders' Cup Mile title. Clearly, however, she will want to avoid soft ground in the future as that sort of going takes the sting out of her vaunted acceleration."

They set her up nice, as she did all the drafting she'd want until she was ready to run in the stretch. Then she got RUN DOWN by a last mover. Now, that's irony.

Guess Princess not only needs to be escorted by windbreakers but she also needs to last move the field. Yeah, I realize she didn't like the going
and has run some nice races.

Smooth Operator 08-15-2010 05:58 PM

Wow … no less than two rabbits … and Goldilocks still got stuffed…

Wonder what her record would be in PACELESS races against TIN CANS, WITHOUT her rabbits?

Smooth Operator 08-15-2010 06:22 PM

Oh my … something tells me there wouldn't be quite as much chatter about Goldilocks if that were the case…

Oh man, I can't wait till Zenyatta gets USCed in the BC Classic this year on a dirt track...

You see unlike fake dirt aka rubber aka synthetic tracks, turf and dirt have different conditions which affect the ground and some horses don't handle soft ground or sloppy tracks as well as they do good to firm turf or fast dirt...but I understand your a little slow and not the brightest bulb out there, so I am happy to explain it to you.

TheSpyder 08-15-2010 06:58 PM

Where is Coach Pants with that popcorn icon when you need him.

letswastemoney 08-15-2010 07:15 PM

Goldikova won 2 BC Miles without her "rabbits." She's an all time great no matter how she does the rest of the season.

Smooth Operator 08-15-2010 07:22 PM

Ah, so nice of you to drop by and enlighten us, Jersey boy

Now could you please splain to me what happened to the superfast QR last week?

no, because she's lost.

the best runners ever evidently are zenyatta, colin, candy ride and danzig, as none have lost. secretariat, man o war, dr fager ,etc. none as good as the undefeateds. you silly, you.

She'll drown at CD this year…

zippyneedsawin 08-15-2010 07:26 PM

Goldikova also ran on 2 weeks rest... (not that it's an excuse, just a fact) imagine that for a champion race horse to do...

I can't believe you've fallen in with the Zenyattards.

What about Pepper's Pride????????

I am not a Quality Road blowhard, but lets see, didn't run his best race apparently, but whoops, he still ran FASTER than Zenyatta when he didn't fire his best.

By the way, when's the last time you have picked a winner...I would guess the Hirsch stakes and I'll bet you had Zenyatta.

slotdirt 08-15-2010 08:58 PM

Smooth Operator has only bet 18 times in his life. 3-5 odds are juicy in his world.

Actually it was 10 times. He was distracted by the Reggie Bush scandal before he realized Zenyatta was pretty good.

Wonder if he returned his mini-Smooth operator-Heisman too?

Too bad the vermin can't touch Reggie's SUPER BOWL ring…
