Handicapping/With or without music?

Im getting ready to pop some AUDIOSLAVE in the laptop while looking over the Toga card for today to see if the Late 4 is playable. I think my handicapping and senses are sharper while listening to some music. Anyone else do this this?

dr. fager 08-23-2006 11:40 AM

Without....unfortunately I have the attention span of a flea.

NO WAY, and sometimes I have to fight the other noises in my house...the dog, my 22 yr. stepson playing his video games, my wife calling me from downstairs. Wonder I have only 50 winners "on top" for the meet!

2MinsToPost 08-23-2006 05:02 PM

peace and quiet. my favorite part of horse racing is picking the form up the day before and just glancing thru that evening. then, on race day, getting up early and sitting down with a big ole breakfast and the form. peace and quiet. i need to purchase some patio furniture so i can do this on my patio during the spring, summer and fall months.

when i'm concentrating on something, nothing else exists...so it wouldn't matter if i was at a live concert!

jacksdad 08-23-2006 07:09 PM

With, always with. Doesn't help a lick. Drive By Truckers are a particular favorite of mine.

Lovemaking with (music), capping without. :D

Although maybe I should try it.....

Thunder Gulch 08-23-2006 08:22 PM

I can't listen to music with words, but jazz or classical will work- not that I really listen to that very much.

my lovemaking would drown out Judas Priest
I can't imagine the noise if another person were involved
Kevin, I'd try a cassette of Tony Robbins
or the sensational Yanni

Usually.Never heard of Audioslave
I do a lot of Dylan when capping.
Rickie Lee Jones has been very hot this toga meet.
Her new double lp is pretty sweet.

1st_Saturday_in_May 08-23-2006 09:38 PM

i capped todays toga to the sweet tunes of 50 Cent and Green Day. DIdnt do **** for me....

skippy3481 08-23-2006 09:50 PM

Have to be doing something while capping. Watching tv-music-video games I find i need time to let capping sink in, so participating in other activities really helps. Well at least it helps for dirt races, turf races not so good. I agree though gpk most of my capping music is alternative. Creed-lit-etc..

Lovemaking???? What is that. After a couple of kids and marriage I forgotten what love making is. I prob wouldnt be able to find the right hole. Who knows were it would end up. Plus, how can I do that when I have Oct 7th on my mind. When I handicap, I like to have a mountain dew, a pen in my mouth, a pen in my hand and a bowl of cheerios getting soggie. I played baseball in college and I learned to totally tune out everything. Or maybe I can do that because I am married with kids. I think men have the capability of tuning things out.

Music going constantly

I have music playing all the time.
There is good at work, after dinner and driving music etc...

I don't have one thing I listen to when looking at the PPs

Recently, I made a compilation of Nazareth. They do some of the best covers.

GPK 08-24-2006 07:34 PM

Today...SEVENDUST was the music of choice.

AeWingnut 08-24-2006 07:38 PM

You would be amazed at the variety of stuff I listen to....just depends on the mood.

I love me some Sinatra...Sarah McLachlen (sp?), Shinedown, Revis, Metallica, Breaking Benjamin, 3 Days Grace, Linkin Park, STP....

GPK 08-24-2006 07:47 PM

Okay then, yeah I handicap either with music or with movies in the background.

But i'm now leaning more towards a new concept, the holy grail of handicapping..... making love while handicapping. Imagine the possibilites?

"Do you think the seven could be the lone speed in the ninth?"

(Panting) "What? What did you say"

(louder) "I said do you like the seven in the ninth"

(moaning) "Oh, Oh, no not really. He is just cheap speed"

(more moaning) "ohhh, ok then, come on, faster you idiot"

It may be hard to handicap more than one race, but then again, who really cares?:)

My ex-husband did somespecial effects for them. I never really got into their stuff to be honest, but really... they were all quite sweet (believe it or not).

Oh you answered!

Handicapping? Hell, I wanted you to answer the lovemaking question.:p

Good answer..... perhaps we should try it.

Cunningham Racing 08-24-2006 09:20 PM

I usually do it in dead silence ad the only thing that can be heard is myself talking out loud as I ration my way through the races....
