NFL Draft...

Discuss....
I dont like Bradford at #1. I would have taken at DT or traded down and took Clausen.

Clausen's overrated, so is Bradford. I'd have taken one of the two DT's.

philcski 04-22-2010 06:54 PM

I love both the DT's so I think STL would have been better off trading down and getting someone else, they do need a quarterback but I'm not convinced Sam Bradford is a future superstar and with the #1 pick... you better not be wrong.

mclem0822 04-22-2010 07:02 PM

Amen!!!!!

The Skins got a tackle, finally starting to address the O-LINE! Now, my want is for them to make some kind of deal to get another tackle somewhere in this draft!

I love the Bills pick, you need 2-3 running backs in the NFL, they just got better. Best division in the NFL, at least they have a solid RB as the worse team in that division.

I hate it. The Bills already have a decent running back combo. WTF do you draft something you already have?

I do like Spiller, but not given what else we need.

Scav 04-22-2010 07:43 PM

I thought the CJ Spillar pick was a good one, still gotta get someone to block for him though. Should be an interesting pick for the 49ers here.

miraja2 04-22-2010 08:16 PM

Is there anything more pointless than ESPN's on-line polls during the draft? Why would anyone be interested in what the masses think about Eric Berry or Russell Okung? 98% of the people responding have no clue about those guys.

They are but that's the best draft pick they've had in 4 years.

He will be a star in the league with or without them.

If you don't know about Eric Berry then chances are you're a football ******.

Scav 04-22-2010 08:40 PM

OMG

Did anyone just see the report on Tebow. Some dude is dressed EXACTLY like him. So comedy!

CP, are you a Kareem Jackson fan? I think it was a good pick.

He's a very intelligent football player. That was a strong pick by the Texans. Of course, they've had luck with Bama players before.

Yes they have. They're starting to stockpile some talent on defense, let's hope it equates to success in the fall.

I agree with what your saying, but bottom line is look at Pats and Denver moving back getting more picks. They took him AT LEAST, 7-10 PICKS EARLY, if not more.

Your guy just got drafted.....

I HATE DALLAS, but Dez is giant value. He is like getting 10-1 on a horse who should be 2-1.

Admit it, you have a teal shirt on right now

Scav 04-22-2010 09:14 PM

How bad did Tebow want to praise Jesus there?

TWO Rutgers guys in the first round.

Yeah, I gotta be proud. :D

miraja2 04-22-2010 09:28 PM

Man, I always thought that Belichick-Brady was an easy Coach/QB combo to detest, but I think McDaniels and Jesus-boy may have them beat.

Scav 04-22-2010 09:30 PM

I am getting texts from some ND people and they are ready to hang themselves about Tebow going above Clausen.

I love the new NFL draft

Scav 04-22-2010 09:48 PM

The Bears aren't gonna have a winning season until I am on social security.

The F'n Lions are making moves, unbelievable.

Bears = 5-11 in 2010

Scav 04-22-2010 10:02 PM

Jon Gruden is great TV.

Coach Pants 04-22-2010 10:06 PM

Yeah Jon Gruden...every god damn person in the world is great and he loves to watch them play football.

But he says some comedy stuff. He just gets so fired up. I love it.

As another poster mentioned, Kiper was nonexistant tonight.

herkhorse 04-23-2010 04:54 AM

Well, it's official. I am no longer a Broncos fan. After 10 years of attending the home opener at Mile High or Invesco Field, I'm done. :wf

I can't believe they traded UP to get Tebow.

This move only makes sense if they trade Lynch away now. I'm hoping they use him to trade up and get Claussen in the 2nd round..

Doesnt suprise me about Tebow going ahead of Clausen. Remember Brady Quinn? He is a product of the offensive scheme that Weiss had at Notre Lame. Quinn couldn't make it as a starting QB for the Browns. Possibly Clausen could be another product of the Weiss offensive scheme at Notre Lame.

That may be the case but I don't think its a fair tag for Clausen. He spent most of the last year with an injured foot that had to be surgically repaired and his best receiver was out for half the season. He still managed to play extremely well and came through more than once in pressure situations.

Unlike Quin, he throws the ball downfield and throws it accurately downfield. Quin got most of his production throwing quick passes in 4-5 wide sets.

I hate Notre Dame and I realize that many agree with you as far as Clausen's pro propects go. I think that many are going to be proven wrong and I think that there are a lot of people that will be shaking their heads and wondering why they didn't draft this guy.

Coach Pants 04-23-2010 08:50 AM

They didn't draft him because...

slotdirt 04-23-2010 09:28 AM

Thought the Lions moving up to draft Best was a fantastic move last night. They basically gave up a 7th round pick, and look at their projected offensive skilled position starters going into next year:

Stafford
Calvin Johnson
Nate Burleson
Jahvid Best
Tony Scheffler
Brandon Pettigrew

Plus, with the addition of Suh, Vandenbosch, and Corey Williams on the d-line, this team could be on the improve. Then again, when you only win three of your last 40 games, it's hard to go the other way.

I'll laugh my ass of when the Chiefs take Clausen and then he supplants that worthless Cassell, and becomes successful.

I actually hope not, but for this post, I think its appropriate. :p

Cannon Shell 04-23-2010 11:31 AM

I heard the Jets are going to draft a fork in the 7th round.

I don't like what they have done this offseason, I may be the only one. 8-8

Could another reason why Tebow went ahead of Clausen is the fact that Tebow is a proven winner. I know Tebow played on far better teams Clausen did.

Danzig 04-23-2010 11:40 AM

but those two points cancel each other out, don't they? tebow is a winner, but how much of that is due to environment? i'm surprised no one went with clausen.

I really think McDaniel took him solely because of his mentality/attitude. After ditching Cutler and Marshall, it seems like he is trying to weed out the primadonna's/head cases out of Denver. Besides, I get the feeling that McDaniel thinks he is smarter than everyone else in the NFL and wants to prove he can coach Tebow into a star QB.
