Adagio claims?
Adagio is entered in the 9th at Gp on Wedn.. He lost by 4 lengths in the Grade I GPTurf Hcp in his last race on Feb. 6th, and the race before just missed for 50K after a troubled beginning. He had won his previous 4 races and 5 of his last 6. So the next logical step? He is entered for 15k. 2 questions how many claims and will he survive the race if he runs or is Dutrow just giving an early Xmas present to his fellow horseman?

You would think if the wheels havent fallen off he will win every race at that level

Since you've guaranteed it, I assume you will be very happy to give me 10:1 on the other side. I'm not guaranteeing anything, but I'm almost certain you are dead wrong. |

Those guys jump all over horses exactly like that, and I am sure you follow Illinois racing so closely you would know that. Gran Esteno comes to mind when claimed for 20 or 25k down at Gulfstream when he was being cut in half. Rivelli claimed that horse off of Dutrow I think, then he came here and romped and Stidham claimed him and won the Washington Park Handicap with him later in the meet. |

I don't need to follow racing at Arlington even one bit to know that you are just typing. Everyone understands why a horse has value as a claim, including Rick Dutrow, but they also understand why it might be dangerous to claim certain horses. Maybe Adagio is claimed, but then again, one might have thought the same thing when he ran twice for $25K, once in NY and once in NJ. Hey, here's an idea, why don't you tell your boss to claim the horse....hell, he might not even have to win a shake to get this prize for those Arlington Starter Allowances. And, I'll tell my boss about these clever Starter races....as we gotta start running them in NY. |

Illinois guys don't claim in NY or NJ. But they do claim at Gulfstream, and have for years off of the NY guys dropping. |

Oh, I get it, only those Illinois guys know about starter handicaps, and the NY and NJ guys are a bunch of dopes that missed out on a golden opportunity. Thanks for clearing this up for me. |

If the horse even runs, we'll see on Wednesday. Does NY even run straight starter races, or are they conditioned? |

This is clever. You meant this as a joke....right? |

This part was a joke, too....right? |

Let's see, you don't know what kind of Starter races are run in NY, NJ, and I'll assume by extension the entire mid-Atlantic region, yet you figured it was just the Arlington trainers that would be clever enough to swoop in for this gem, but it is ME that only thinks about one region.
Good stuff dude. Like I said....you're just typing. |

Ok, fine....but shouldn't you have wondered why nobody jumped in on him before? |

This is better than Tool Academy :tro: |
He's had 3 races since he was in for 25k, a 35k win, just missed for 50k and the GR I four length loss. He is probably held together with rubber bands and paper clips but there will be many (whoever they are, and from where) who will be waiting in line for 15K

Rivelli took Gran Estreno for 20k from down there, and Calabrese took a crippled Boundary horse off Tagg a couple years ago off the same situations. And there was another horse that Rivelli claimed off of Dutrow either last year or the year before in that range. They claim dropping cripples all the time and they run huge first start here, and they are running for 5k by the end of the meet. |
****, I am not even smart enough to see that Rivelli claimed Optimer off of Dutrow...
Another piece of proof Dutrow's other horse might be claimed also. Might be one big Arlington claiming party. |

Scav..you might throw in "Yeah...well I slept with your wife"

Its alright man. It must suck to have been made fun of your whole life and gotta roll like this on the net. Keep coming... |

Once again....this is a joke....right? |
Even though this is a rather strange debate, I find Tom and Andy arguing over claims and starter races about 10x as interesting as nearly every Rachel-v-Zenyatta thread.

that can be taken a couple of completely different ways... lol ... just sayin |

I'm glad that part of the joke wasn't lost on everyone. |

I feel the comment I made was a pretty simple one saying that specific Arlington guys are attracted to horses like this one (and added another one later), and I even used a couple of examples, and he turned it into god knows what. I can care less about being made fun of when it is harmless, I can roll with the punches with the best of them, hell, I hang out with Satan's Twin all summer, you develop thick skin from that alone. But when you start talking about sex life or money, or mothers, or family or sexual preference or religion or any of those things that set people off, I just think that is a little too far |

Oh, you got PMs! Love that. I guess that makes me a meanie. Are you sure they weren't notes passed when the teacher wasn't looking. Love the last part. A...I didn't do that and, more importantly, you have made so many ludicrous sexist remarks on this board it's beyond ridiculous. |
Where's Snoop Dog when you need him?
