Horse name Lloydobler
Notes Activity type Workout Activity date 12-24-2009 Track Belmont Park Surface Dirt training Distance 5 Furlongs Workout type Breezing Workout time 1:03.07 Track condition Fast Looks to be a nice light breeze after the terrific last work. The big question is did he get the gate card? |
Great news, waiting anxiously to see if he got his gate card and when his first start might happen. Christmas wishes can come true...

Any word on how Lloyd's Christmas Eve work went?
|

Date: December 31, 2009 Track: BELMONT PARK Rank: 75/129 |
Worked out under DAVID COHEN who will ride him in the debut (Maiden $35k going 6f) if the race gets used... Entries taken Sunday for Thursday (1/7/10).

Race was NOT used for Thursday... There is a MDN $50-60k for Saturday that is a possiblilty instead.
|
Hoping for a Saturday race - I could definitely make it for his debut
|
Saturday looks good as the racing office has brought back the unused MDN $35 for 1/9. One or the other should go...
|
I'm hoping it goes off on Saturday as well. We would look to make our first trip in to see Lloyd's debut and it would be our first trip as part of the DT team.
|
my employer (would) say Saturday the 9th looks a lot better than me calling in or going home with personal illness on the 7th lol...
|
When do they draw, today or tomorrow?
Thanks in advance! |
The draw is Wednesday. Both Saturday MDN races are claiming, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed no one wants him, except us:{>: .

I believe the 2nd race is a straight maiden for 3yos going 6f. |

There is a straight MSW in the Condition Book as well as the $60,000/$50,000 MDN CLM race listed as a substitute race. The $35,000 MDN CLM is an 'Extra Race' on the Overnights... The 'Extra Race' is there because it wasn't used for the Thursday card. It will all depend on how many they get for which race... That's how racing offices massage various races in the Condition Book and on the Overnights and mold them into raceday cards. |

Those of you who will there on Saturday, bundle up and give Lloydobler a kiss from us when you're standing in the winner's circle.:) |

I only got to see him twice in Saratoga (had to wait for him to ship in). But I got to visit him everyday on my earlier visit to Louisville (when we were calling him Harold Carmichael). He was playful when I would pet him, eventually trying to nip me. He would also place his chin (if that is the correct horse anatomy term) on my shoulder and try to push me down. I would resist and we would have our little strength competition. I will also miss the race on the 9th. Safe travels to all, especially Harold... I mean, Lloydobler. |

I hope this picture comes out. It was taken at TOGA soon after he first arrived. I call it "the horse of many colors". I told Paul that he looked like a graduate from clown college. Paul said he wanted to be sure I could pick him out as he traveled around the Oklahoma Track that day.

if they don't fill one of the races they are already entered in one they do and if they use 2 of the races, scratch out of 1 of them. Do you have to pay for every used race you enter? |

I first visited him during a torential rain storm. I had to jump into a patch of deep mud to avoid a skittish horse (and then walk around Saratoga for the rest of the day in my muddy, damp shoes). :( I think Dave Blaha (Heels1989) took some pictures. I snuck back for a visit after the races on my last day there. Lloydobler (Harold) was always friendly and playful. |
Here's another pic of LD - probably my favorite.
I am so concerned about all those people and horses that have to function in this exceptionally cold weather. It's single digits here in SE Virginia. I can only imagine how bad it is at the Big A. Do well, LD. Come home safe and sound. ![]() |

Thanks, Heels. Great pictures. LD is definitely a personality kid. We were there on the 29th, as well... probably just missed each other.
|
No go for Saturday... Race DID NOT fill... Has been brought back for Sunday 1/10 though, so we'll try again tomorrow.

Been wrangling with a family conflict for Saturday, so I'm selfishly relieved to hear...
I'm a definite for Sunday or any day next week. Go Lloyd! |

Either day would have worked for us, Sunday was probably the better day. Hope the race fills and we can see Lloyd's first race and meet some of the DT group.
