randallscott35 08-14-2006 04:31 PM

GPK, it was strange, it looked like she simply slipped on the turf. I think she's ok. Literally skidded across the ground.

thats what I thought to Rand....didnt look she broke...

shes up and on her feet they said.....great

randallscott35 08-14-2006 04:37 PM

Kev, I've never seen that. She literally slipped, almost like a slip n slide ride. No breakdown at all thank God.

You know they run the grass races at Mountaineer early in the card b/c of dew forming later in the night in WV, b/c of slippage so it does happen.

Very happy she didn't break down.

Check you PM

sumitas 08-14-2006 04:41 PM

hope she's 100%...what a wacky ending to the card. the 8 horse unseats her rider prior to the race and was very hard to catch. then Tizlater falls...time for a break.

prudery 08-15-2006 09:35 AM

TVG may have suggested she was ok, but she was vanned off and later reported euthanized ... Very sad ...

The charts described the fall as a breakdown, and a reporter from the Daily News reported the sad result . I found this on another forum . Wish it WEREN'T true . In fact, I would be delighted .

randallscott35 08-15-2006 10:35 AM

**** that bothers me, he walked off, thought for sure it was positive.

Me too Rand...like you and I said yesterday...it looked more like a harmless slip across wet grass or something....such a shame.

Gander 08-15-2006 10:47 AM

I will call my source right now and find out the good or the sad.

Any decisive word from anyone yet?

If the NYRA video is viewed, Tizlater appeared to stumble and bobble before falling and skidding on the turf . She did break down. Jerry Bossert of the NY Daily News reports all races in synopsis and indeed reported that the filly was vanned off and later put down . Wish it weren't true . Check the ny Daily News website---I did .

RIP Tizlater:(

Albany Union Times

The ninth and final race began with comic relief but ended sadly when 3-year-old filly Tizlater suffered a fatal breakdown entering the stretch of the 1 1/8 -mile race on the inner turf.

ateamstupid 08-15-2006 12:33 PM

Definitely sad.. That's the second breakdown in the past week or so.. Ugh. RIP.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, and even more so the bearer of unsubstantiated bad news . On two other forums, it has been noted that Lost In The Fog colicked Sunday or Monday and was brought to UCLA Davis clinic . I read the original post that triggered these comments . It appears on the Del Mar Forum and says that an associate of Gilchrest relayed the information . There is NO official release, but track people on other forums have vouched for the info . This could be **** or shinola, but it is getting talked about . Not confirmed anywhere . Too many deaths and disasters lately . It is sickening .

Oh man... that's never a good thing. I hope he comes out of it ok. (Mine always did.)

Also, RIP to Tizlater. So sad. :(

sumitas 08-15-2006 01:16 PM

RIP Tizlater, it was too soon to go. She was surrounded on the track by her connection after she was up. She received a lot of support in that terrible moment.

No no no no no...I really hope it winds up being nothing more than a rumor. I willingly own up to being a huge LITF fan (hey, I was born in SF)...I can't even think about it.

Bystander 08-15-2006 02:05 PM

The bloodhorse has a story up, a "slight" case of colic.

"If it wasn't Lost in the Fog, we would have taken care of it at the barn," Gilchrist stated. "This is a very slight case of colic. We are not anticipating surgery being necessary. They are running tests on him now, and I would expect to have him back in the barn Thursday or Friday. When he got off the van at Davis, he was feeling good enough where he was looking around for the racetrack."

Interesting that this was out in cyberspace yesterday . Good that it is only a mild case, but with colic, you can't be too careful .

Kasept 08-15-2006 02:34 PM

From Gilchrist..

Had John Perrotta check with Gilchrist a half hour ago, and everything is fine with LITF.. He'll be back at GGF Thursday or Friday.

Listen to ATRAB at 4pm when John will have more details about Fog...
