Greatest Remake Songs Ever

# 1- Chambers Bros. "Time Has Come" redone by the Ramones. (I personally witnessed this in a club in D.C.)

#2 Sweet Jane by Velvet Underground redone by Cowboy Junkies. (Hard to improve on the best but they did it)

#3-Lauryn Hills remake of Roberts Flacks' Killing Me Softly. Actually, this should probably be #1.

Thoughts????

1) Faith No More remake of Easy by the Commodores

2) The "live" verison of Knockin' on Heaven's Door by Guns N Roses

3) Whitesnake's "funky" verison of the Beatles - Day Tripper

The two most obvious ones were mentioned by Doc, Watchtower and I fought the law.

I also like the Flying Lizards version of Money.

I heard a remake once of Killer *****'s classic "Teenage enema nurses (in bondage)", but I don't think the original can ever be topped.

For those unfamiliar with this clever song:

While not a fan of this song at all, this really has to be the greatest and most clever remake ever:

Stevie Ray Vaughn did a number of great remakes, Superstition, Texas Flood, The Sky is Crying, all great. But, it's pretty damn difficult to top Hendricks, but in my opinion Stevie Ray does just that with this instrumental version of Little Wing.
