trifecta movies

saw the following movies fri nite..

the wrestler

slum dog

the day the earth stood still

i thought the wrestler was by far the best..its not for kids but the performance was fantastic. everyone has a bit of old glory in them.. and everyone is a phuck up.. i give it 3 horse shoes..

slum dog.. good plot but just too dirty of a reality for me and the big question
was bogus.. i give it 2.5 horse shoes

the day..so weak on using matrix guy as the alien..1.5 shoes

the shoe rating

4 excellent must see
3 best of the rest
2 good to see but really pretty lame
1 wtf i could have played a super at hollywood

docicu3 05-23-2009 11:39 PM

Saw Star Trek last night 3.5 horse shoes. Great effects, characters from first TV show all with more depth. Better than I expected

onebadbeast 05-23-2009 11:47 PM

PAUL BART MALL COP....CHEESY AND DUMB
SLUM DOG..BEST PICTURE? SNOOZER........
THE READER.. GREAT MOVIE 3 STARS:tro:

MaTH716 05-24-2009 06:55 AM

I could honestly say, that THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL, was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. It was just awful!

rpncaine 05-24-2009 07:15 AM

Awesome..I can get all the info I need on anything on this blog and not have to go anywhere else! Movie ratings, politcs, etc. I love this fourm and since all you guys are people of integrity, I can trust what i read. Got any stock tips? :-)

geeker2 05-24-2009 08:28 AM

"Pork Chop Hill" best war movie ever.....

Oh a stock tip BRANIFF "Fly The Colors"

rpncaine 05-24-2009 08:41 AM

Not bad, but my fav is "Saving Private Ryan". Talked to a couple of guys who were there and they said they can't even watch it that it is so realistic.

Signs that horse racing may be occuping too much of your life:

- You give out horseshoes instead of stars or thumbs in movie ratings. :D

chucklestheclown 05-24-2009 03:21 PM

I stole a LITF movie poster from the OTB yesterday:o

I thought Slumdog was really good. The Wrestler is on my list to see. The Day blew IMO!

Bigsmc 05-24-2009 07:41 PM

Last movie I saw at the theater....Paul Blart Mall Cop. Last one before that...I honestly do not remember.

Last movie I saw at home, start to finish...Bambi.

Kids.

hi_im_god 05-24-2009 07:58 PM

i know you have to suspend disbelief during most movies and it wasn't the worst writing crime but did anyone else notice that the questions on slumdog occur so that he recalls his life in chronological order?

how likely is that? and it's not like memento, pulp fiction, and other movies haven't been more interesting because they don't use this conceit. it just had to be just spot on the nose exact?

i thought that was weak.

good movie. but probably wouldn't have gotten a nomination in better years. it was no trainspotting.

" I AM the motherf***ing Shore Patrol!"

If you haven't yet, "Taking Chance" with Kevin Bacon is a MUST see. Now out on DVD. Kleenex optional.

I don't have one of those, but I would recommending using your Scaveneese to English dictionary (I know you have one of those). The languages seem to be very similar, kind of like Spanish and Portuguese. :zz:

GPK 07-27-2009 02:13 PM

Just a heads up...if anyone is thinking of renting "Knowing" save your time and money. I wasted both of mine last night. Horrible film.:wf

viscount26 07-27-2009 02:54 PM

Saw the reader Saturday
4 horseshoes for the number of times seeing
Kate's t•ts
Saw Harry Potter 6 yesterday. Only 3 shoes,

Could not sleep at all last night so I watched this movie that starred Kevin Costner, Paul Neuman and this beautiful blonde woman, a natural beauty. Don't know the name, it was set on the outer banks and was a love story that had a sad ending. I cried a little.

4 horseshoes:{>:

rpncaine 08-03-2009 06:25 AM

I think that is "Message in a Bottle" and the blonde is Robin Wright Penn. Real tearjerker. Wife loved it, it's ok for a chick flick. Could've used some more skin though.

too bad because i love UFO/alien movies. keanu reeves is painful too watch in any movie. that continuous blank look on his face and his creepy monotone voice makes me want to take a nap.

But if you never saw the original movie you must watch it. thats one of my all time favorites.

2MinsToPost 08-04-2009 04:58 PM

watched 21 Grams last night. gotta stay with it start to finish as it bounces around but a good flick

3 horseshoes

oh yeah some skin at the end:D
