mclem0822 05-01-2009 04:52 PM

What a gentle MONSTER! She's incredible!

randallscott35 05-01-2009 04:52 PM

That was great. I'm happy for Wiggins.

ateamstupid 05-01-2009 04:54 PM

She's a badass, but we knew she was winning by open lengths as soon as JWD scratched.

pgardn 05-01-2009 04:54 PM

Calvin Borel needs to start performing
tricks up on her back during the stretch.

Hand stands, use her as a pommel horse.
Ridiculous.

HaloWishingwell 05-01-2009 04:55 PM

Borel says she is the best horse he has ever been on and he didnt retract from it when he was reminded of STREET SENSE.

Merlinsky 05-01-2009 04:56 PM

The "Queen of Churchill Downs" indeed. I called my dad to make him watch because she was obviously gonna put on a show to behold, but I didn't expect that. 20 1/4 holy cow.

Clip-Clop 05-01-2009 04:57 PM

She is not even trying to be that fast. It is really remarkable.

eajinabi 05-01-2009 05:00 PM

Allicansayiswow

TheSpyder 05-01-2009 05:00 PM

I wonder how many more races we get to see her in? That was superific

fpsoxfan 05-01-2009 05:04 PM

Very Impressive!

From Berlin,,,,,,,,wunderbar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:tro:

Cannon Shell 05-01-2009 05:09 PM

Pretty good for a horse that wouldnt vet out. The field wasnt great but an effortless 20 length victory in the KY Oaks is pretty damn impressive. Dont know the vet who failed her but he spared us the sight of some unattractive connections celebrating in the winners circle.

RolloTomasi 05-01-2009 05:11 PM

Shades of Lite Light.

I didn't know he had rights to it. Oops..........

Hey Steve, do you mind if I borrow your avatar?? :D

The Indomitable DrugS 05-01-2009 05:39 PM

She was obviously running against the clock and the wind ... but that performance was really something.... to say the very least.

I'd love to see her hook up with Zenyatta on a real dirt track at 9 furlongs later in the year.

kgar311 05-01-2009 05:39 PM

wow wow wow

It just too bad that we will never know how good she is. Owner stated boys run against boys, girls against girls.

With the handicap division this year, she could beat the boys in the Classic.

too true. thank goodness for that.

too bad they didn't go for the gusto and run her tomorrow. i'll have to watch the race when i get home, still stuck at work. i'm not surprised at all that she won easy.
i wasn't expecting 20 lengths...but i can't say i'm shocked either.

since the best older horse in the country is a female...you can't really knock them if they take on zenyatta.

two best horses racing right now (til the next tc winner wins the derby tomorrow  ) are fillies.

well, one is...the other presumable top horse hasn't run in over six months.

King Glorious 05-01-2009 05:51 PM

Speed always has the advantage and she has more than Zenyatta. Since Rachel's owner thinks fillies shouldn't run against boys, I guess we won't see her in the Classic this year. Since she'll be in the Distaff, Zenyatta will be in the Classic this year. That's going to be her best chance to win another BC race.

Thats a very good point.

Not on Santa Anita's Pro-Ride it doesn't.

I'd bet my lungs on Zenyatta against her on that crap until I see a race from RA on it that impresses me.

On real dirt, I'd give a very strong edge to RA with her natural speed. Zenyatta's lone dirt win came at the expense of the lousy Brownie Points - Ginger Punch was in there but didn't fire - and Zenyatta's final time wasn't as impressive Tiag-slow's in winning the Oaklawn Park Cap on the same card.

Danzig 05-01-2009 05:59 PM

i wouldn't necessarily bet rachel over zenyatta in the bc. zenyatta certainly is a very good horse. and of course she's shown true ability over the cali surface. the reason i would pick her over rachel in the bc is the same reason why i wouldn't bet POTN tomorrow.
we know zenyatta can run on dirt. so, the best matchup between these two distaffers would be on that surface. no excuses then for either....altho i've always thought a top four year old holds an edge over a top three year old. would love to seem race, that's the only way to know which was better.

dagolfer33 05-01-2009 06:12 PM

Two points: 1) Other than a shot against Zenyatta, this horse should race against the boys or retire. Anything otherwise would be pointless. 2) If Barry Abrams is her trainer, she might have won the Oaks and the Derby.

cowgirlintexas 05-01-2009 06:13 PM

What a special filly.. I hope we get to see more of her greatness.

MaTH716 05-01-2009 06:14 PM

Just watched it. Just unbelieveable. I have never seen a horse give what was the equivalent of, a public work in a race so big. That was amazing!

but wouldn't it be funny if rachel entered the man's classic and zenyatta's connections go in the girl's classic to avoid rachel

Merlinsky 05-01-2009 06:23 PM

Can we count on IEAH trying to make up for lost time and trying to get her now? I personally would be too attached to her but I know some folks have a price and she was for sale for $1.5 mil at one point. If they did get her, I bet the Classic would suddenly enter the picture.
