DT.com aesthetic changes, enhancements..

Have a number of format and design changes being implemented around the ol' website today, the first of which seems to be visable already above... Notably, the front page will start to utilize 'feeds' and wider use of current news technology with commenting ability. I'll fall short of using the word blog to describe it... There will also be a number of different people contributing to the front page Commentary column, and anyone interested in submitting an "Op-Ed" style piece is welcome to do so.

Also on the way, the long-ignored Photo Section will be revamped, and more specific Dee Tee Stables information is likely to have its' own page. Please feel free to comment on changes or suggest new ideas as I look to keep making DT as fresh and informative as possible. And thanks as always to everyone who contributes to the information flow and frivolous fun around here...

What browser are you using?

Kasept 03-02-2009 09:28 AM

This is the part where you provide feedback, so, so far, Pants and BTW aren't liking the masthead graphic. To be honest, I didn't expect the photo to show up here in the Forum like this, so if people find it distracting, it is easily rectified... :wf

I think it looks good, using IE 7 1680 x 1050

Travis Stone 03-02-2009 09:45 AM

It's a cool shot, but it's not in proportion to the original photo it seems and it pushes down the content quite a bit... it's a bit large.

joeydb 03-02-2009 09:51 AM

Uh, I like the pic... :D

The webdev guy, Dave, is still tinkering with things as he rolls over some of the new content/pages. That whole page isn't supposed to be there at all. Work in progress...

TheSpyder 03-02-2009 10:38 AM

Those are all the new words Steve is going to introduce this year.

Being a member of DT stables, I like the picture. Which race is it?

You tell me.

TheSpyder 03-02-2009 11:10 AM

You're either very smart or have a whole lot of time on your hands!:)

It looks like the sample text that is used to fill space in Dreamweaver. Just my guess...

fpsoxfan 03-02-2009 11:15 AM

The changes look great. Great Work Steve and the rest of the DT crew!

herkhorse 03-02-2009 11:52 AM

I think it is a very nice picture of Dee Tee's first horse running at Saratoga as the favorite.

before she faded to 4th
:o

I don't know what is so objectionable about it. what do they want?

Danzig 03-02-2009 12:11 PM

the new header is a nice pic-but you do have to scroll down for everything now, including typing a new post. but it's not something i would demand we lose just because of a move on the mouse wheel.

pmacdaddy 03-02-2009 05:32 PM

Was not able to log onto DT this afternoon on Blackberry. Not sure i anyone else had trouble.

May have to adjust my settings or something.

infield_line 03-02-2009 06:14 PM

No good deed goes unpunished Steve...

I like the new look. Always remember, some people would complain about a b*$@job..:D

Well of course you got two of the most upbeat
positive members of the board. BTW would
send back a beautiful naked woman at a
restaurant explaining she was a bit cold.

The screen resolution can help if its too big
depending on your monitor. Looks pretty good
to me. I use a smaller resolution. Of course I am not
a connoisseur of fine web pages. And not blind enough
to use 800x600.

Coach Pants 03-02-2009 06:38 PM

I can tell we've got a few on here who still get popup ads and actually like them.

I was able to view the page on mine. In fact, it was the first time I saw the picture (new header).

2 Dollar Bill 03-03-2009 09:23 AM

When I logged on today and seen the new format... I thought I been snowed in for awhile and it was a Aprils Fool Joke....
[ btw ...it looks fine ]
