Let the games begin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Warner to test the waters, wasnt able to reach deal with Cards.

Skins throw 54 mil to D'Angelo Hall and he accepts (like he didnt do teh Rod Tidwell dance)...Snyder just keeps keep'n on.

hi_im_god 02-26-2009 11:55 PM

who besides the cardinal's would want warner?

he's nuts not to treat last year as a great exit.

Just to name a few teams that have lesser calibur qb's at teh helm currently or would upgrade with him:

Every team in the NFC NOrth not named GB
Every team in the NFC West
Buf
NYJ
KC
TAM
Handful of others...

Will he go to these teams? Probably not. I guess bagging groceries humbles you enough and makes you realize that you need to accrue as much as you can, while you can.

Hey...the Church is counting on his donations. Too bad Larry Miller didn't own a NFL franchise..he'd be set for life

As long as Snyder is the owner, I'd say the latter is usually more prudent.

ateamstupid 02-27-2009 09:16 AM

Jets get Bart Scott for 5 years/$40 million, Ray Lewis has hurt feelings.

:D

SniperSB23 02-27-2009 09:38 AM

Skins dish out $100 million for a thug DT with motivation problems and $54 million for a thug CB that at 25 has already burnt bridges and been shipped out of Atlanta and then was released by the Raiders. Wow. Bye bye salary cap. You know Snyder is going to make sure that there is no collective bargaining agreement reached now so they go into the uncapped season.

Coach Pants 02-27-2009 09:58 AM

Fred Taylor to the Patriot s.hitheads.

The deal isn't finalized yet, but it's close.

I love the moves, as an Eagles fan. Keep signing guys like this. Hall getting that number is laughable. I swear Snyders does $hit like this just to force other teams to overpay for TRUE quality players. What CB of ANY talent will not look at that and say that he doesn't command more?? There were only 2 real 'teams' in the NFC East going into the offseason and it appears to remain so. Two actual teams built to be menaces for a period of time and two win-now ensemble of overpaid miscreants. Now if we could only find a a way to beat those sad bastards. (skins)

if he plays they way he did in ATL he's gonna be worth the money he signed for. Al Davis and Oakland gave him more money then the skins did, and i don't think its too far fetched that he gets asanti samuel type money. as much as people say the skins have good corners..... they don't...... springs is getting long in the tooth and rodgers has NEVER lived up to his top 10 draft status, Hall is a legit #1 corner that should help out the up and coming safties we have -----Landry and Horton. Now lets see if there is enough left in the account to get taylor back

The Redskins are a freaking joke. I disagree that they're driving up the prices of other free agents, since their total asshattery is recognized and understood. They'll have a good first half of the season and tank down the stretch like every year. Snyder needs to get run out of town for that team to ever win anything again.

I still think that Jason Campbell is not the answer. He doesn't impress me at all.

If I were a Skins fan, I'd be worried about Jim Zorn. I think Campbell has talent but isn't used properly.

Browns trade Winslow to Bucs for "undisclosed draft picks."

WOW!!! I wonder what the picks are. Gives teh Browns some much needed flexibility and the Bucs a nice safety valve WHEN healthy. Could put up some okay numbers down there. A deal that truly helps out both teams.

I thought Heiden played well in KW's absence. My buddy kept yapping about making a push for WInslow, but I wanted nothing to do with him. We already have our receiving TE in Celek, we just need another one, one that is multi dimensional. (Pettigrew comes to mind...I'll let you know when I wake up from this dream.)

i don't know if he's the answer either-or zorn for that matter. but i sure wish jack kent cooke could have lived forever. i haven't been happy with how the team has done since the old man died, and snyder bought the team.

Bart Scott just has to sign on the dotted line.

http://weblogs.newsday.com/sports/fo.../its_done.html

Jets also rumored to be frontrunners for former Steelers G Chris Kemoeatu and may have a deal in the works for former Bills CB Jabari Greer.

Zorn is way too old to play QB.

Based upon Kemoeatu's Super Bowl I wouldn't be real excited about him

Yeah, he re-upped with Pittsburgh anyway. I'm kinda glad. I wasn't nuts over giving $5 million a year to a one-year starter off a lousy line drafted in the sixth round.

Also, Scott still hasn't signed. I hope he doesn't pull an Antoine Winfield.

He stunk in that game. Maybe it was a bad game or he was hurting or something but his guys were chasing Ben all over the place or he was holding or offsides.

Anybody know his contract status? How many years does he have left before he flies the coop?

SniperSB23 02-27-2009 02:58 PM

Laveranues Coles currently touring the Bills practice facilities. Would be an interesting pickup. I figured he was a lock to be reunited with Pennington in Miami.

NOt sure how long he's inked up for, but it says he's set to make 4.5 in 2009 and 4.75 in 2010.

In other news, I think that Denver signed both JJ Arrington and Correll Buckhalter. If so, thank you CB for all the years here. If only Andy would have run you more.

I believe this is the last year of his 6 year rookie contract he signed in 2004.

I think the birds will get the RB from Pitt (the college team). He seems like he'd be a great addition.

Lesean McCoy. He'll be a good back in the pro's. I, like many others, want Donald Brown from UConn. Give him a good line and he'll be a stud.

Thanks Scott.

I hope that conditional pick isn't much. Since I am sure the cheap ass Bucs won't lay out the money to resign him. It'll be one and done, esp. if he has a big year.

Didn't see this, if they get two years out of him, then I'm okay with it (still depending on how high the draft pick is).

My best guess for the discrepancy is that he was suspended for the year he missed after the motorcycle accident so that year must not have counted towards his contract. So his six year contract actually lasts for seven seasons.

King Glorious 02-27-2009 03:37 PM

I think too big a deal is made on the total amount of these NFL contracts. It's not like baseball and basketball where it's guaranteed money. It's year to year. I seriously doubt Haynesworth sees anywhere close to $100 million or Hall sees $54 million. Seriously doubt it.
