2008 - What Are You Most Thankful For?

I greatly enjoy threads of this nature, I love to read about positive things happening to people. I love to hear and read good stories about good things happening to good people. So, as 2008 draws to a close what better time then now to start a thread where we can share the postive aspects of our lives, no mater how big or small. I find that just reading or hearing how someones life has been enriched by someone or something it only helps me see the bigger picture and really treasure what matters.

I hope each and every one of you have a safe and happy holiday, and an even better 2009 and beyond!

Life sucks.

But that's just me.

Yeah but you have this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tHSMEDkK2s within 100 miles of your house.

Who wouldn't be thankful for that?

This was a really nice idea for a thread. Too bad it's in Eso. :D

Kidding.

Can it be anything, even something silly?

The obvious aside (friends, family, sexy men of DT :p ) I'm grateful to (music, please...) the Hong Kong Jockey Club for keeping the spirit of Christmas (well okay, of goodwill) alive all year long.

Example... there aren't claiming races there but there are the "cellar dwellers". Those lovely Class 5 boys at the bottom level of racing and yet look.....

They love their horses and even the cellar dwellars get the occassional and official farewell at Sha Tin.

Just lovely.

Oh yeah, his record just to show that he pretty much only raced in Class 5 and 4, poor guy. (He amazingly did go out with a win though!).

Cheers to them for their kind acts this holiday season and all the year long, and cheers to the old guys all over the world who run their hearts out every day. :tro:

I'm grateful to them because like great art, the best thing about racing is that it touches you and makes you feel something.

Okay well the cash is a pretty good reason to like it too. :D

Happy holidays to all of you.

Absolutely no idea what you're talking about but Mr. Stonegossard, Esquire, has NOT once suggested I take up residence at Creedmore (sp?) all year... hooray! :D

I've been regular for weeks

AeWingnut 12-21-2008 07:45 PM

lets see.. at the beginning of 2008 (before the first full moon) For the 1st time - I made out a check to myself and signed it "The Law of Abundance"

so far this year I have lost almost 50% of my retirement/ life savings. Mr Empty Platitudes was elected and democrat Peter Fitzgerald botched the Blogo thing.

other than that I am thankful for Kickin N Screamin giving Dee Tee Stables their very first win. Sumwonlovesyou surviving.

oh, and my sister having a successful operation (that cost me a week of vacation) eh, what was I going to do, gamble?

I always lose

that's why I had to stop betting Dee Tee horses.
