Secretariat, Big Brown and Man O'War

Who wins?

Better yet, we'll have a series of three 1 1/4 mile races. One on dirt, one on grass, and one on synthetic.

What are the results!

I say Man O'War dirt, Big Brown on turf (he was undefeated on the stuff!), and Secretariat, just to be fair, on the synthetic.

blackthroatedwind 11-03-2008 11:16 PM

Obviously Big Brown would win on any surface.

And Curlin, in turn, would beat them all. Followed closely by Smarty Jones and Afleet Alex.

The fact that I know you, should really preclude me from laughing when I read some of your posts -- but it doesn't. LOL.

Secretariat wins this by a length over Man O war with Big Brown with a big fat CNF (Could not finish) in the result charts.

blackthroatedwind 11-03-2008 11:22 PM

And, Nashoba's Key would have crushed them all.

I think you are sorely underestimating Rockport Harbor.

Reading some of this drivel reminds me of the night at Siro's when that guy invited himself to our table.

I'm not sure he would win....but I know he would be favored.

Zaf 11-03-2008 11:36 PM

Think , Secretariat would of buried them all. No disrepect to Man o'war.

Umm, actually, to some extent I could see this as fun. Yes, it's always an exercise in futility to have hypothetical races between horses from different eras. Fun as it might be -- there was nothing, absolutely nothing, fun about that guy inviting himself to sit down with us. Plus, it was your table. Ironically, when he found that out, he wanted to sit there even more. LOL.

That's not fair. These are mere horses. She's a monster.

I'll be serious. Man O War and Big Brown will speed duel into 21 44 fractions, setting it up for Secretariat.

he would destroy big brown on any surface, at any distance, before ppl say things about me, does anyone really disagree with that ? ?

Thunder Gulch 11-04-2008 09:41 AM

I don't know who would win a matchup of all time greats, but Perfect Drift would finish second.

I don't know if Smooth Air would beat them, but he would try really hard and almost certainly hit the board.

slotdirt 11-04-2008 11:36 AM

This discussion certainly shouldn't be had without Great Hunter.

GPK 11-04-2008 11:40 AM

Personally...I think Spooky Mulder would outgame them all:tro:

hrfan 11-04-2008 11:44 AM

Is Master David entered in there? If not, I don't care.

You are 100% right about that.
Master David is the AIDS of the horse racing humor industry.
Humorists can try as hard as they want, but you just can't get people to laugh at Master David jokes.
