Just once

Instead of deflection, I'd love to hear somebody like Jim or Tim defend this disgusting stuff, and explain how it's on par with ACORN signing up fake people that would never be able to actually vote.

How can you honestly support a party whose goal is to consistently get less people to vote?

I like the one about reps. voting Tuesday and dems. Wednesday best.

That one actually may work.

:)

Of course all these reports could well be a dem. last minute dirty trick.

:)

But lets agree about one thing.

It's a dishonorable mess---the whole voting process on both sides. They will do anything in their power to make us do their right thing for our own good.

without wasting my time reading the "article"

I will explain it this way... I was listening to NPR and they were talking to some guys that basicaly said that when the weather is bad republicans win.
If we would have had normal rain fall in 1960 Nixon would have won instead of Kennedy.

I believe that people that aren't passionate about the issues, don't know what is going on tend to be fair weather voters.

in my state you don't have to have any proof of who you are. You just walk up say a name and you're in. My friend's dad is still on the list and he's been dead for years. There is no penalty for voter fraud. You get caught and what do you lose? illegal votes.

Mike 11-03-2008 06:14 AM

I'm in southern Vermont and voting is a breeze. I'll walk in to the high school gymnasium, check in with an old lady who has a list of registered voters(I won't show any I.D.), walk to another table, where I've waited in line almost 5 minutes once, get a ballot with ovals to pencil in, go into a little "booth" and do it

I see on CNN this morn, people are already waiting in line for 6 hours to vote in some states. This **** should be dealt with by now

Antitrust32 11-03-2008 06:50 AM

I think what is taking place described in that article is pretty fucl<ed up & embarassing. I would hope McCain wouldnt let that stuff go on and I really hope that he knew nothing and wasnt part of it.

There's a republican opinion for ya.

I'm sorry, you must not have read the first three words of this thread. But thanks for the typical rambling imbalanced freak response that I foolishly thought I might not get. Some of your lamest work.

As for the people who actually attempted to answer my question (basically Lori and Morty), I appreciate the input.

No one can defend the actions that are presented in the article, however there are arguments that not everyone should vote. If you do not know how many states are in the US, how many senators, etc. simple basic things you probably shouldn't be helping to decide who becomes president. It amazes me how dumb and uneducated people are.

A counter point to the article is that there have been reports of democratic supporters trying to get homeless people registered to vote. Is that who you want to decide our election?

Also, in our state you can register to vote the day of the election with no proof of ID. It is absolutely ridiculous. Voter fraud is rampant. I don't think it is too much to ask for a drivers license or state issued ID with you picture on it to be able to vote.

Homeless people would not be on my list, but i 'll go along with the idea of some people losing their right to vote.

Under the article, look at the comments of SthrnRdnckChck69.
Her and Joe the Plumber both say they did their research. If you just researched better, then you would go their way. Get to researchin'!

Mike 11-03-2008 11:14 AM

From Wiki answers:

The Supreme Court decision of March 21, 1972, declared lengthy requirements for voting in state and local elections unconstitutional and suggested that 30 days was an ample period. Most of the states have changed or eliminated their durational residency requirements to comply with the ruling, as shown. Note, for all states, in order to register to vote, an applicant must be a U.S. citizen, a legal resident of the state, and 18 years old on or before election day. Additionally, most states do not permit an individual to vote if he or she is a convicted felon currently serving time in prison or has been declared mentally incompetent by a court of law.

Nice try at the spin arguement,Joey! Of course that deception is disgraceful, but it's hardly equal to the massive fraud of ACORN. There are hundreds of stories about that organization and its' tactics. How can you support a party that has mass registrations and drives potential voters to Mosques to sign up...like they're gonna vote Republican?? Or hundreds of millions in donations
coming in last month...that was all US contributors, right? Our enemies would love to put a candidate who was sympathetic to their cause in office. It's possible you may get what you want, but I don't think you're gonna be ready for it! I'd try to answer some other burning questions, but the others are "too bonged out" to understand.....which explains much of their stance on life.

that's a disgrace and a shame. the crying shame is that there are others who agree with this garbage.

You answered with one word, then went on for a paragraph deflecting the topic to ACORN. I think everyone knows my stance on the topic, don't you? And you were the one that brought me up in your post, right? That's why I talked to your dumb, bigoted ass.

The dope stuff is funny though. You could use some, it might smarten you up a bit. Certainly couldn't make you any dumber. Do you really want to keep making an ass of yourself on here day in and day out? Have you no pride?

Uh yeah, gee...I do a couple bongs and maybe a beer or two....and then maybe an Ambien to sleep.....Of course I'm in my right mind, why do you ask?
