Thank You Jason Bay.....

They may not win this one tonight but the futility of the Red Sox for the first 5 innings was just ridiculous. Lackey is no CC .....Come on Lester let's make this stand up....Jason Bay again trying to make us feel good about Manny living in Blue Man land

What a play by Youkilis to get Vlad out at 3rd. Sprung up like a chicken with a nice throw over to third. WOW

Youk is money in the field....went a year without an error at first base. The accuracy if the throw and the waddle of Vlad is what made the play.

I would like to see an insurance run though.....

Masterson has come so far as the year has worn on.......the kid has a helluva future with the Sox.

His release of the ball makes for a hellish trip to the batter's box. Kid is the goods.

I was wondering where you were......If Diceque can bring a quality start to Friday night the Angel's will need CPR to remain alive following games 3 and 4 in Boston. Sox have the halo's down now they have to stomp on their throats by not being content with just one win in LA. You might see Tito sit Lowell til they come back to Boston with Youk at third though there is no way Shaun Casey makes that play on Vlad......It's nice to be the underdog and still be the defending champ....

Tried my hardest to stay awake last night...but the eyelids got heavier with each passing inning. I made it through about 4 innings and then woke up to catch the bottom of the 8th. I just knew the 2-1 lead was safe:rolleyes:

Saw the highlights and it sure looked like Lester took command after Bays homer. Seemed to get real aggresive and go after the hitters. 10 straight now against the Halos in the postseason...lets add another 2 to that streak and head to the ALCS:tro:

horseofcourse 10-02-2008 10:18 AM

The funny thing is all the experts moaned on what a bad thing it was for Beckett to be held back. I mean Beckett is one of the best post season pitchers of all time...but both Lester and Dice K were much better pitchers this year. Beckett was not that great this year at all. They had the two right guys going in LA. Nice to have Beckett in the hole however!

Wouldn't surprise me one bit, Cubs are garbage, for them to show up like that AGAIN, two years in a row, is ridiculous.

We will see if there is any urgency tonight....

Who's got the hill for each club tonight?

That series is the most likely to go 5 IMO.

Nut case and Billingsley I think, if we lose tonight, we are done, we will get swept

I hope Z can even it up for ya's.

The Phils, on the other hand, have to go up against CC using Brett "2 and 2/3" Myers..

Zambrano hasn't gotten out of the 2nd inning in his last two starts because he is nuts. I am sure he will bring it tonight, but Billingsley is pretty serious.

Peter Gammons was one of the only ones to not drink the Kool Aid on ESPN selections.....

Over/Under on how many ground balls hit to the SS or 2B today by Derrek Lee is 3.5, I'll take the over

He's as good as it gets when he's cool-headed and in the zone. He just snaps too easily (much like Myers).

LMAO at the over...Hasnt he been a doubles machine his whole career?

Double play machine this year, there is even a blog set up for...he most definitely leads MLB in DP's this year

All the pressure is on him tonight. The Dodgers are going home at worse even. Lou likes to hang in there with Z when he melts, but tonight you would think that he will be on a very tight leash.

I think Loney had the 3rd most dp in the league, and appeared to be struggling of late(hit .209 in Sept.) He doesn't doubt himself (the way most people do when they are struggling.) Nothing seems to shake him up. He is very confident at everything (except running.) That is not a kool looking runner. I'm sure they kid him about the way he looks when he runs. Too big(I guess.)

Papelbon hasn't imploded in the playoffs. You're just mad because Lidge almost coughed that game up yesterday.

I like how one bad pitch to Pujols became imploded in the playoffs.

Pujols sucks...any pitcher worth his salt would just dominate him.

Yeah, because he was awesome after that.

Like I said, I'm done arguing, since you take a 35-pitch save while giving up a run and putting two more runners in scoring position as some sort of example of how great he is.

In the playoffs? What about the other three games in that series he saved before the implosion?

Cannon Shell 10-02-2008 06:56 PM

I suppose Sabathia sucks too because his post season outings have been way worse than Lidge.
