McCain suspends Campaign
|
positive move...they can always debate....let them weigh in at the meetings..miracles do happen.
|
Another in a series of desperate moves.
Why is this NOT shocking? |
I think both sides now realize we are fucl<ed if things don't come together. I expect Obama will go along and do the same. In the big picture it makes sense.
The country needs both sides to cut out the cross-talk and do the right thing-find a solution! |

He knows where the mood of the country is and fair or not fair, its against his party. He knows that Friday is an awful time to debate obama. He pulls this and he can play the whole patriotic maverick card with the numbskulls that don't know the difference. He can do the senate things and still debate. |

Since it was to be a foreign policy debate..don't you think McCain would be at an advantage? so why would he want to avoid Friday? |

So in essence, McCain would be debating to his strength at a time when no one will even care thus weakening him further. |
BHO says that he doesn't want to postpone the debate, which could be very interesting if McCain just doesn't show up...

Not showing up for a debate would demonstrate the opposite extremes to those wonderful traits. |

If they print these yahoos more $$ that's going to make yours worth even less. |
Wow. What a cheap and pathetic move. It's clearly meant to shove Obama into a corner, so politically, it was a pretty brilliant move.
It's just posturing and I hope Obama doesn't bite, mostly because I'd just prefer to have a President capable of doing two things at once. Someone should tell McCain that dealing with foreign policy and dealing with domestic policy is not an either/or, mutually exclusive, proposition once you're in the White House. Sad and desparate. But then again, cheap, dishonest, and slimy moves like this have bred success for the last eight years, so why not stick with what works. If it's not incredibly clear that, regardless of what you think of Obama, McCain has absolutely zero business running this country, add this notch and let me know when you finally figure it out. |

More importantly, if the GOP weren't notorious for disingenuous, stupid trickery, then this might hold some water. But given the McCain campaign's penchant for outright lying in the last three weeks, it's pretty tough to give him the benefit of the doubt that he really is doing this for the well-being of the economy, and not of his own campaign (you know, the one that's in shambles and getting thrashed according to....well, everyone) considering that it's a trick right out of the typical GOP campaign playbook. |
Isn't this, in a way, the 3 AM phone call? Obama says he can answer the call and still make time for the debate. McCain is saying that is too much for him to handle.

But what does that have to do with trying to find a solution to a problem that the Nation faces - that by all measures is the worst we have faced in decades. |
Quote:
Outright, blatant lying, which has become the order of the month for McCain and Palin, is something different...something that's not 'just' politics. And it's not like Dems are notorious for this type of silly election trick the way Republicans are. That, in itself, has nothing to do with solving the problem. But self-professed weak on the economy McCain (who a week ago said the fundamentals of the economy were strong, and is now saying he needs to suspend his campaign to fix them....) is not going to fix it. It's pure theater and grandstanding, which seems painfully obvious. |
Quote:
The Palin bubble is deflating and the economy is killing him. Heck, George HW Bush can lose an election within a year of an overwhelming victory in Iraq because of that little recession, what do you think this one is doing to McCain? He knows it...Rove knows it...they all know it. He needs to stay away from any national podiums until this thing gets just a little bit fixed. Can you really disagree with that? |

I think if you review what I actually wrote you will not find any party line. I don't give a sh*t if a solution comes from Obama or McCain or a combination or neither of them. What I expect from these idot's in government is a solution that protects the People and their future. If Obama decided that the way to come to a solution is to walk down the street naked with his johnson out - Great. If McCain decided that the best way is to wear a turbin and do cart-wheels down Wall Street - Great. I don't give a Sh*t who or how they come up with one - I just demand one before everything turn into one big final pile of sh*t and I have to work till I am 80 years old!!!! |
Quote:
As for a solution, neither McCain's or Obama's presence is going to make a hill of beans of difference in terms of the final result. This is basically a done deal anyway as everyone knows that this has to get done this weekend. period. end of story. That is why this whole "im going to suspend my campaign" thing is so ridiculous. As for a solution, the devil will surely be in the details. If there is a smart group regulating the assets that government will be buying, this will be a money making proposition for the taxpayer. |

But if Osama did it you would call it "the right thing to do." No wonder things are so fucl<ed up...you people are so polarized it's not even funny. |
What a desperate wimp.

what would be a bigger tab? the buyout, or do nothing and see what happens when the dust settles if they don't do a buyout? no way of knowing the latter...til after the fact. and i don't know that i've ever seen a money maker for the taxpayers, this will surely be a brand new thing for us. in business, we always try to stay ahead of the curve-why is washington unable to do that? probably explains why as low as bushs approval rating is, congress is even lower. |

I give your bush a very high approval rating. ;) |
Phooey.
Dannie stopped talking dirty again. |

Because Obama has no need to pull a cheap, obvious, pathetic stunt like that to try to score points, he would never do it. So your gotcha moment is rejected out of hand. |
