Wimbledon
Starts Monday and looking forward to it. Working out of the house is great as you can watch all the matches on TV and on their web site. For $25 you can get total access on the web as well as watch and download many of the current matches and, even better, you can do the same for classic matches in the past. I downloaded Federer vs. Sampras and Arthur Ashe vs. Jimmy Connors last year as well as several others that are great.
Not sure how many tennis fans we have but it doesn't get any better than Wimbledon. Spyder |

The sissies James Blake and Andy Roddick knocked out in the second round.

Ivanovic looked exhausted mentally and physically. Still has a way to go in her conditioning.
I thought about betting Ancic today. If I'm not mistaken his odds were like +240 to win. Edit. Was +170. Still decent odds but nothing to lose sleep over. |
while its not on the same level as "Henmania", the brits and Andy Murray are really starting to bug me.. I hope Gasquet finishes him off..
|
this is a cracking little game, murray staying in there, gasquet was pretty much home and hosed.. already 24million euro bet on this game on betfair..
|
Bethanie Mattek was fun to watch.
|
I'm enjoying Marat Safin's comeback. Looks good and can't wait to see if he's got the same girlfriend as when he won the Australian open a few years ago. She was smoking!
Spyder |
Safin's fitness is a big question mark. Can't see him getting past Federer.
|
McEnroe, the eldest, is a very good
analyst/announcer imo. How come great ex-football players have such a hard time doing the same... Actually Aikman is pretty good imo. I am hoping Nadal can step it up to the next level and really pressure Federer. I dont think he has the game on grass but I do think he has the mental toughness. assuming they play of course. Nadal should have an easier way to the finals. |

Tomorrow will be a very interesting day. There isn't a result that would surprise me. Blow-outs in either direction or 5 setter to either. This match has the makings of one of the all time classics.

For me Federer is by far the better player on this surface in almost everyway from a shotmaking standpoint. Nadal is a model of focused intensity. Most people vibrate out of their skull with his competitiveness, but somehow Nadal is able to use it in a useful manner. If McEnroe had been able to accomplish this feat... We might be talking about the best of all time from him. McEnroe could hit every shot in the book. |
I admittedly know jack sh*t about tennis...but watching Nadal and Federer this morning. These guys are amazing. An incredible amount of power combined with touch.
|
Agree. I play alot and someone once told me it's a lot like boxing and these two are Ali & Fraizer. It's amazing how much mental strategy behind what they do.
This has all the makings of being a great one. It appears Federer coming to the net is something he was playing with in the French and now he's using it bery well. Spyder Quote:

Seems Federer is about to go down 2 sets. Would have to be an epic comeback.
|
such a good match at the mo, Federer will have to really earn this 6th win. hes in a real battle
|
He had some key chances and failed. If he can come back it's got to be one of the greatest mental combacks cause he's got to be so down right now. Up 4-2 and loses...that's not good and can't think it's ever happended to him before in many, many years.

Federer is getting so many chances but doing nothing with it.. his head must be going nuts. could be broken here. EDIT - huge hold for him there.. |
Quote:
Very big hold. You? and Creamer? Not quite sure you would know what to do with it if you actually got a hold of it:D Im quite the fan of this one:o http://www.lpgascoring.com/13687/scorecards/81125.html |
I would be weary of Nadal's knee tightening after that awkward fall in the second. It would suck if he is unable to finish his finest Big W effort against Federer.
On the other subject Kev I like your taste in female peers. Don't know much about her. Has she ever won anything? |

this rain could last a while, can only help Federer get his mind right.. If he comes out, gets an immediate break, its big time game on... |

Other than my undying love and affection? |
I'm not sure whether this delay will help or hurt Federer. He has had so many chances.
|
Fed gets the 3rd set..
The next set will be fascinating.. 6-2 Federer??? |
Seems like Roger wants to play a little longer.
|
The real question begs...what kind of intense training must these kids go through to be ball boys/girls?? Like little robots moving around out there.

Try to find teenagers in America able to sit still. Good Match. Roger's serve is saving him. |
This is incredible stuff.. Federer pulled it out of the fire at 0-30.
|
these two are unreal...
FIFTH SET! |

OMG this is the best match ive ever seen.. |
It's a cliche, but man.. The heart of a champion..
Nadal's amazing too of course. EPIC STUFF. |
