Kev, surely you wondered about this one here. Can the individual hit it pretty far?

i was watching her play and told my wife to watch her hit the ball....my wife says, "that's a woman?" classic example of a "hanger".

TheSpyder 06-10-2008 07:30 AM

Not sure how many remember a guy who was a good tennis player that had a sex change operation so he could play against woman. Rene Richards, formally Dr. Richard Raskins. At least he got cut for the cause.

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/s...toryId=7277665

Also, remember in the Olympics where a woman contestant failed the sex test.

It's scary out there!

Cant wait for this Thursday.

Would much rather watch golf at this point than any racing

SCUDSBROTHER 06-10-2008 02:55 PM

As long as they haven't changed the greens all that much, then I don't know how Tiger loses this. These are his greens..right? Reads them very well.

GPK 06-11-2008 03:36 PM

The ones in bold I think will play well this week.

Kev,
I heard the rough is not "US Open bad" this year. Is that true?

Mike....I don't think the rough is as crazy as it has been the past few years at other venues.

I think Tiger wins this week...and the only reason I say that is from something I heard him say earlier this week. When he was asked about the changes to the golf course, part of his response was "The sight lines off the tee are still the same for me." As a competitor, that is a vastly underrated part of the game. If Tiger is comfortable standing on the tee and can visualize his tee shot, that is going to equate to him hitting more fairways. That in turn is gonna lead to him hitting more greens and the more often he s hitting into greens from the fairway, the better his chance of hitting it close. I still don't think the winning score will be very low, but I think he gets it done.

GPK 06-12-2008 12:35 PM

Time to settle in for an afternoon of sitting on my ass and watching the best in the world.

First bet of the week....

# of stupid ass nicknames that Fatass Berman comes up with during todays telecast.

Over/Under is 17. I will take the over but pray for the under....way under.

They should ban this guy from doing golf telecasts. He's the definition of clueless.

Better known as a "Bigs Shot" in these parts.

Consider yourself lucky you can't watch....first Berman on ESPN now I get Johnny "I love myself dearly" Miller

GPK 06-12-2008 03:09 PM

nice 3 putt par on 18 Tiger:zz:

declansharbor 06-12-2008 03:10 PM

They jinxed him with that stat flash...

GPK 06-13-2008 07:26 PM

A certain someone seems to have found his rythm....5 straight 3's to begin his last nine holes. 4 birdies and 1 par:cool:

pgardn 06-13-2008 07:54 PM

I dont get it.

I just will never be able to fathom
how good Woods is in such a fickle game.
Just does not make sense to me.

How can anybody possible know their body
that well? How? does he study every hair on
his body? Can he feel ever muscle?

Tiger needs to hand over his brain when he dies.

Mortimer 06-13-2008 08:31 PM

Oh he's juiced up---isn't it obvious?

This guy doesn't fool me one bit.

30's pretty good the last time I looked! Can't believe with him playing 1 round in 2 months that he's doing this good.

brockguy 06-13-2008 08:41 PM

Keep up the good work Aps!!

hi_im_god 06-13-2008 09:10 PM

$42 to play that course weekdays.

tees are closer, rough is uniform, and greens are slower but the fairways are the same.

san diego is like heaven. i should move there.

that is all fine and dandy....but the way they market it, it makes it seem that anyone can play for that price. They fail to mention it cost a non-resident of San Diego $145 for 18 during the week and $181 on the weekend.

I hacked it around there about 15 years ago on a weekday (with a SD resident). I don't remember what I payed but I do remember being amazed at how cheap it was for a PGA tour venue.

i played there about 12 years ago...they had a pro walk with you for the first 3 holes and give you tips to help your game....he was chain smoking and chugging vodka by the end of those 3 holes...his tip for me.."take up bowling"

Not sure if anyone saw, but the US Open contest about a 10 handicap not being able to break 100 on the course. John Atkinson (8.2 index) shot 114 last friday at Torrey Pines:eek:

The 39yo gentleman also has stage IV inoperable lung cancer....and never smoked.
