Stanley Cup tonight

Pretty wild, I wish all hockey was like this, if it was, I probably would watch it more

Scav 06-02-2008 09:16 PM

i look down and I miss the tying goal....

ELA 06-02-2008 09:30 PM

and the go ahead?

With this 3rd period -- the score is not even close to reflective of what's going on in this game. Pittsburgh is lucky they are still within 2 goals.

Shots on goal for the period is something like 13-1, maybe 13-2.

This is a great game, and an exceptional period.

Supposedly the Blackhawks are going to be playing in Wrigley Field this next year, if that happens, I will definitely be going to that

I heard something mentioned like that. They were talking about "The Classic" behing held in NY (Yankee Stadium?). What's the deal with Chicago?

I'm tired just watching, would love to see another game but Pittsburg looks like toast.

The Blackhawks are still in the NHL? Or did they get traded to the NL Central?

declansharbor 06-02-2008 09:46 PM

NICE end to the 3rd...Action packed portion of the game...Packerbacker en route to hospital with heart palpitations...Nice to see a game made out of it after it looked wrapped up.

herkhorse 06-02-2008 10:07 PM

Fluery, not sure how to spell it, but it's a great name for a goalie.

ELA 06-02-2008 10:09 PM

Detroit is dominating -- if they don't win it, it's certainly not because they were outplayed.

Wow, what a catch!

ELA 06-02-2008 11:16 PM

This is what hockey is all about!!! What a game.

Going into OT # 3!!! Scoring opportunity after scoring opportunity, kill after kill, and they just keep going, end to end!!!

I heard that Yankee Stadium couldn't hold the game because of "logistical" concerns so it was on at Wrigley..Hawks vs Wings

steve 06-03-2008 05:53 AM

i would like to see the nhl take commercials timeouts out of the game, put them between periods much like soccer. The games would flow that much better

Maybe so, but as it is they flow way better than basketball or football.

Does "logistical" = wrecking ball?

I agree 100 percent. There is nothing close to playoff overtime hockey as far as tension goes. And nothing better than a low scoring post season baseball game as well where every single run is monumental.

Yeah, that was it. There were allegedly answers for both but I don't remember the details. The water pipes issue was apparently put to rest, but perhaps not to the satisfaction of one side or the other. As far as the NYC issue, yes, that was cause for concern but apparently the work around was some sort of lease deal/agreement.

Regardless, I guess it didn't happen, so Chicago it is.

So a hockey game finally made it to a
real network...

I must say the last 10 seconds were exciting.

When the Pens got within a goal and then pulled the goalie -- it got really exciting. The last 10 seconds were like a heart-stopper.
