Here is the link. This stuff is hilarious. He is basically a guy like the guys in the movie boiler room. He cons people out of their retirement money.

My favorite line was

Iavarone said an imposter was responsible. ``There was no bad check ever written,'' he said. ``Somebody took out a marker in my name, illegally.''

This guy is a real winner. I don't like the owner, trainer, or jockey. But the horse is still an incredible animal.

If this horse loses I will believe in the racing gods. If he wins it would be hard for me to believe the racing gods game a TC winner to this group.

jms62 05-28-2008 02:39 PM

He is as likable as Curlins owners...

every one that I've looked into... which is a ton of them (been investor for years and have many relatives in the industry).

If you know one on the up-and-up... I'll gladly tip my hat to them.... never seen one though.

This post is absolutely nuts.. Most hedge funds are run by brilliantly successful people who make their investors a very satisfactory return. Trust me if racing horses was 1/10 as straightforward and successful as MOST hedgefunds racing would be flourishing. The reason why Hedge fund investing is growing in popularity is because most (probably 75 to 80%) earn a profit each year.

You are an idiot.

It's kinda like saying all Irish are drunks ? A ridiculous assumption/generalization.

Name some of the funds you looked into?

This guy didn't work at hedge funds, he worked at crooked boiler room brokerages who were rampant in the 80's and 90's. Brokers make money on the execution of transactions and hold no risk- completely different from hedge funds.

By the way, I'll excuse your ignorance on the topic, but hedge fund employees only get paid when they show positive performance. It isn't in their best interest to rip off the client.

i don't know what's worse, crooks on the loose, or people referring to big brown as outstanding and incredible.

That doesn't mean I necessarily like them or endorse them, though.

That is correct. Most hedge funds get 20% of the profits and charge a 1% management fee. The hedge fund operators aren't going to make any money if the investors aren't making money.

Wall Street people talking on tv.

Commentator #1: It's a bull market for tards today over at Derby Trail! As Mister B. posted his take on what really took place in the early stages of the Preakness. And in other DT news, sanity is trading at near 52-week low levels after poster NLFP suggested that Gomez stiffed Hard Spun in the Belmont Stakes..

Commentator #2: Talks of recession might be premature as many insiders feel that Cannon Shell will outperform quarterly expectations and start as many as 9 new polls. Members of the street can also take heart knowing that Freddy had bad luck at his card game and the resulting losses could mark a decrease in his sober post to belligerent post ratio - thus causing a greater overall entertainment value

It's time for a break - but don't touch that remote! Coming right up, we will have Justindew and Stone Gossard join us. Justin will tell you why Rush Limbaugh is really God. Stone G. will probably call him an idiot and diss Someoneluvsyou a few times.

Dont you have a horse to do some intense research on...follow his career closely.....do some great work.....find a great spot to make some money betting him.......

then chicken out and not bet a dime when he wins at 8-1 ?
