FGFan 05-14-2008 12:59 AM

My champion Catahoula Dog died today.

His name was Southern Lights Shaka Zulu and everyone knew who he was. He was a champion livestock and hunting dog. He was 9.5 years old and I remember the moment he was born, he has never left my side. We loved him so much. He was Top Ten in the nation before he was 6 months old. He was black and kind of ugly and everyone made fun of him except when it came to hunting.
He died in his sleep last nite.
I am so sad and I can't sleep so here I am on the internet late at night looking at his pictures and trying to take my mind off it.
Zulu was my friend, my companion and my bodyguard and I will miss him so much. He was a good boy.

Coach Pants 05-14-2008 01:12 AM

Sorry for your loss.

Did he like music? If so, was he a fan of A Tribe Called Quest?

ddthetide 05-14-2008 06:43 AM

sorry for your loss. pets are family members too and we know how hard that is.

Hickory Hill Hoff 05-14-2008 07:10 AM

Sorry for your loss :(

Kasept 05-14-2008 07:29 AM

Beth,

Very sorry to read about the passing of your Catahoula.. I had never heard of the breed before this morning, but they sound like wonderful companions.

I'm sure his memory will always brings you joy...

For everybody to see Beth's interesting dog...

Antitrust32 05-14-2008 08:57 AM

I'm so sorry for your loss. Sounds like a great dog. Keep your head up.

Mortimer 05-14-2008 09:03 AM

Wuffie Heaven awaits.

Good thing The FROZEN ONE doesn't post here or he would yell at you for something.

I don't care for fancy doggies,by the way, but I'm sure you feel bad and so my finest wishes set sail through the air hoping to find your behind.

Straight up....you and me....we're there......you know it.

notyep59 05-14-2008 09:20 AM

friend and companion.....sometimes our pets fit this category much better than some humans we know....good memories of Zulu to ease your pain.

wiphan 05-14-2008 09:53 AM

Being a pet owner is hard knowing that you will most likely out live your companion. I feel your pain and hope that you can find joy with the great memories and times you had with your dog.

Mortimer 05-14-2008 10:42 AM

Now---I have to intrude here.

"I feel your pain."....????

Oh come on now.

You don't.

You can't.

Just say something honest....keep it real....and move on.

OK?

Mortimer 05-14-2008 10:56 AM

I think if you had not said "my champion"....I would feel a lot worse.

His life was worth no more nor no less than "my Sammy"....who died sometime ago.

He was my finest wuffie ever....and he was a huge mistake by several nonbreeders. ...was supposed to be a toy collie.....bought from a dishonest ice cream vendor.

Grew to weigh 70 pounds and stand 5 feet tall on his hind legs.

There was no "toy" in him.

He looked collie-ish...sheppard-ish...and even labish.

But there was never a finer wuffie...never. Haven't had one since.

Oh God I need a country song now.

Yes...they don't mean to fornicate .

Demons make them do it.

But back to the main tissue---I mean issue.

I hope no one thinks me without soul....this would be an untruth. I merely try to point out priorities.....and proper places for certain things.

But I am sorry your doggie died.......I forgot your name, but you know who I mean.

I will now exit this thread.

It's FGFan.

Her dog is like the baby of the family. And as any proud competitive parent would do, they put their baby in beauty pageants.

There's nothing wrong with that. It might not be what you would do with your child, but that doesn't make it funny and/or peculiar.

Oh..well it's peculiar. But there's nothing wrong with that.

And of course all doggies are equal.

Except for Shih Tsus.

"What do you get when you mate a Shihtsu and a bulldog?"

Sorry for your loss, FGFan. Post a picture oh him for us.

pgiaco 05-14-2008 11:38 AM

Sorry for your loss. I just recently lost my canine shadow of almost 15 years. Remember all the joy he brought you and vice versa. :(

Riot 05-14-2008 11:39 AM

This thread is what Derby Trail is all about.

Two morons laughing at somebody's loss, and the list owner allowing it.

Coach Pants 05-14-2008 11:42 AM

Oh my.

Sorry, Morty. Didn't hurt a bit.

Coach Pants 05-14-2008 11:44 AM

I demand an apology.

Mortimer 05-14-2008 11:44 AM

Listen..I'm sorry the doggie died...but it's a bit ridiculous.

I can just as easily say the originator and the posters who are in abject depression and tears and are sending "prayers out to ya!!' are just as moronic....but I don't.

That's the difference between you and me.....you idiot.

Oh yes it did....you inconsequencial fool.

And I ,too, demand an apology.

Mortimer 05-14-2008 11:49 AM

Some day I will die......stop that applauding......but I will.

If anyone here knows about it and opens up a sympathy thread---know what will happen?

Here's what you'll get:

YAY!!

GOOD RIDDANCE!!

FUCl< YOU!!

GOOD!!!!

And yer whathaveyou's.

You think I'll care?

Coach Pants 05-14-2008 11:51 AM

So no apology, Mumtaz?

Now you've gone and done it...

You've hurt my feelings.

Ms. Fan;

It has been brought to my attention that you are a very nice lady.

This is very unique on this board.

But anyways.....I am very sorry for your sorrow....that you feel bad ,I mean.

I ,too, know how sad this can be. I think it was the word "champion" that got my noodle off track. I consider myself a fan of the every man....and doggie.

I realize I can be taken the wrong way...I certainly go too far at times....so please accept my sincere apology...and my personal condolences for your fine wuffies passing.

Good luck with your book burning and back to slavery campaigns.

Coach Pants 05-14-2008 12:09 PM

Morty cut Mumtaz some slack.

She might be good friends with FGFan.

And FGFan is my peoples.

That's kind a contradiction...ehh. Well you know what I'm sayin yo.

Mortimer 05-14-2008 12:10 PM

Oh all right.

I won't say anything more about Numb...I mean Mumatz.

Mortimer 05-14-2008 12:53 PM

In fact,Ms. Fan....if you feel I have been so heartless as to not be in a state of deservation for forgiveness...then I will leave here and not return. That simple...leave and not return----as just punishment.

All you need to do is say the word...I promise.

Well that's not what you should say...besides "I promise" is two words. The "word" simply means all you have to say is "leave"...that's really all.

Mortimer 05-14-2008 01:08 PM

And so...it has come to this.

My shame knows no bounds....I become less for this...even though that very bad man CoachPants made me do it.

But I must take responsibility for my actions.

And that does not mean stating the person who is in woe should be saddled with the decision ...do I stay or do I go.....that is the lowest thing I have ever done.

To make up for this all---I will leave on my own now as just self punishment.I will not return.

Ms. Fan...allow me to leave you with these words. Words so small and simple yet so telling; words my simple mind could not have come up with on its own:

Everyone is the same.....only you are different.

Coach Pants 05-14-2008 01:09 PM

I'll offer to leave too.

Hey don't blame it on me.

I'm going to give it 15 minutes. If no reply, I'll leave.

Coach Pants 05-14-2008 01:34 PM

Goodbye to all of you!

I hope you're happy now, Mummy.

:( :( :(

I'll leave you with this...

OMG I need to edit that whip out of the pic.

Ok I'm leaving for real now. Bye.

Mortimer 05-14-2008 01:53 PM

You can't leave...certain people must have someone to target their frustration upon.

And yes---get rid of that horrible whip!
