Wow, that is pretty loaded.
|
Shaped up to be one of the best races of the year so far. I don't even know which way I'll be playing it. Can't wait for this one...
|
Without looking at a Form, PG1985 posts his lock for the race in
5 4 3 2 1...... |
your right phil, that race is LOADED.
any chance we see Firm that day or is the weather still retarded? |
I just had a write up for each horse and f'n lost it. you guys get nothing now :)
|
Absolutely loaded. VERY good field.
30%-50% chance of T-storms starting early tommorrow morning and continuing throughout the weekend. Doesn't look good for a firm course. I'm thinking yielding at best. |
wow.. nice field... especially for this time of year.
|
Has Showing Up officially retired yet?

lets see how close I can get to the ML odds
1 Kip Deville Velasquez C 123 = 2/1
2 Einstein (BRZ) Albarado R J 123 = 6/1 3 Parading Velazquez J R 117 = 30/1 4 Ruff and Ready Coa E M 117 = 50/1 5 Thousand Words (GB) Castellano J J 117 = 9/2 6 Zann Leparoux J R 117 = 50/1 7 Cosmonaut Prado E S 119 = 4/1 8 Out of Control (BRZ) Gomez G K 121 = 12/1 9 Shakis (IRE) Garcia Alan 117 = 10/1 10 War Monger Desormeaux K J 119 = 8/1 11 Thorn Song Bejarano R 117 = 50/1 |

Is that off the top of your head, or did you look at a Form? |
What do you think?
He's got Rough And Ready 50/1 - even though he's a Pletcher runner who's 4-for-4 lifetime on the turf - with three of those four wins coming by margins of 5.5 lengths or more. I think Scavs future as a linemaker is about as bright as mine as a song writer. |

Drugs, I did it because the horse is way outclassed.... |
I know Scavarino - I know.
But you did say "let's see how close I can get to the ML odds" ... even if you (or an ML maker) have a knock on a horse or don't like it's chances - the ML makers job is to assign horses odds based on what he believes they will close at. |

I'll be sure to clarify if I am speaking of Scav's world or real world. Love the addition of 'arino', a good touch |

Thanks man. But I'd say it was a bit of a 'bounce' after my James Taylor lyrics tweaking epicocity. |
surely 1000 words isnt good enough here?? why 9/2 scav
|
Scavs, what I want to know is what are the odds of Out of Control getting scratched? That horse will be way overbet just because of Frankel/Gomez. His ability doesn't match up with these and his style of running won't match Keeneland's turf course.
He should be 20/1, but I'm guessing he gets bet down to 6/1 or 7/1 if Frankel actually runs him. |

Your the Euro corespondent, she would toss 1000 words? |
1000 Words doesnt scream G1 horse to me, he never has, always came up short against a quality field.. he was a good 2year old but didnt really progress last year, in fact, his last few races in England were shocking..
Frankel does seem to be able to work the oracle on these types though.. |
I was just perusing the nominations for this race and noticed Olympic Chief. How/why in the world is he not in this race?
|
How has he runs since debuting in last years Arkansas Derby?
I think the Makers Mark would have been a shrewd spot for him to make his turf debut. |

That's what I thought too, drugs. The Chief ran in two MSWs since his debut, and was actually beaten less than a pole in his last. And...as we all know, Davidson knows how to get them to fire huge off the layoff.
|
I'll be interested on Ruff and Ready's actual odds, might be right there on the lead
|
Zann at 50-1?? You are more nuts than I thought. 2nd time for KMac and surely didn't have the easiest of trips last out at Gulf. He was 5-1 that day.

I hate to say it but the weather looks like its gonna awful all weekend here in the Bluegrass state. I wish it wasn't b/c this is a really good field and would love to be able to catch war monger back after that debacle in Calif. Just have to wait and see how things look on Friday.
|
If it is off the turf, who would scratch?

I take back what I said about Ruff and Ready. Besides Kip Deville, he is the fastest damn horse in the race.
I do think Kip Deville is unplayable here. I would much rather play him in his next start then this one. As much as I don't want to say this, Einstein is value here, along with Ruff and Ready and Shakis. |
From 50-1 to one of your top picks, Scavie? I like Ruff and Ready too.

All I can say is.....WOW! what a race, as good as it gets.
