the dt race of the week gs weds 3-12

race 6 7f msw 40k

Coach Pants 03-11-2008 04:11 PM

That's a horrible race of the afternoon, much less week.

hoovesupsideyourhead 03-11-2008 04:13 PM

why some pretty nice fillys here

Coach Pants 03-11-2008 04:18 PM

Which ones are nice?

hoovesupsideyourhead 03-11-2008 04:20 PM

ALL

Coach Pants 03-11-2008 04:22 PM

I don't see it.

The only one that piques my interest is Shug's horse and she'll be too short to bet.

blackthroatedwind 03-11-2008 04:23 PM

Not for nothing, Hooves, but picking a race filled with first timers and horses with few races is hardly much of a handicapping exercise.

true..but these are the type that baffle so many and is part of the pick 4

Coach Pants 03-11-2008 04:38 PM

The 7th race is a far more interesting maiden, IMO. Lizcarroll could be one of the few this meet to go gate to wire on the turf.

hoovesupsideyourhead 03-11-2008 04:41 PM

ok pillow take the reins.. race 7 1 mile and 1/16th turf md 80k

can someone put up a link to pps.........

Maddy's Crowd isn't that quick out of the gate and that inside post isn't going to help.

Joppa Flatt's is a concern, especially considering the way Go Go Idiot rides. Horse had no business being that far off the pace in last. 17th try and a short price to boot? I'll pass.

The horse who intrigues me at a price is Recovering. He's improved every race. The only drawback is how far off the pace he's going to be. If Maddy stays out of early trouble and puts pressure on lis with Joppa...this could be the one to pull the upset.

TheSpyder 03-11-2008 05:18 PM

To me Liscarroll is the horse to beat. Last off the turf effort is a throw out.

Having said that I got to go to my wise guy selection of Mr. Wenzel. Yea, he's in for less than half of what was paid but some of my breeding favorites and Velazquez up lead me to believe the horse in rounding into form. Obviously has issues but this spot might suite at a price.

Spyder

blackthroatedwind 03-11-2008 05:21 PM

Mr Wenzel was best last time. This is a significantly tougher spot.

hoovesupsideyourhead 03-11-2008 05:25 PM

for me the winner is jamaludin.. last was a work on the slop should get a trip
and should like coming off the pace........or the attfield firster ill use both

golfer 03-11-2008 05:28 PM

Joppa Flats, 17th time a charm!!
Seriously, this is one of the fastest career maidens I've ever seen. Some day he will graduate.

Gulfstream Thursday Race 8

With showers possible tonight and tomorrow, will Gulfstream keep this magnificient race on the turf?

http://www.brisnet.com/bris_link/pdf...her_104736.pdf

If the course comes up soft this could end up being a spectacular race with the Euro shippers Miss Lucifer, All is Vanity and Just Little.

3kings 03-11-2008 06:49 PM

In the 7th does Maddy's crown seem like the logical ML favorite? She seems like a very vulnerable favorite here, or what am I missing.

Hard to believe you like a Chester House

Cannon Shell 03-11-2008 07:04 PM

Recovering is interesting at a decent price and his entrymate would be worth a flyer 1st time turf but will be shorter priced than he should be due to the coupling

3kings 03-11-2008 07:16 PM

Jamuladen looks most likely to me but IMO you will not get near the 5-1 morning line.

Interesting that All is Vanity beat Just little in France. All in Vanity may be a bleeder since her owners/breeders are the ones who sent her over here and she had two poor races while fading to end her campaign last season and adds lasix. Miss Lucifer may be making her first start in a race with a turn.

tiggerv 03-11-2008 07:55 PM

Throw a dart in the 6th.

In the 7th Liscarroll looks best to me if they stay on the turf. If they move off then I like the 16 time maiden who should probably be on dirt anyway.

Been waiting for him since the last turf race as well:

forced out at the start, 4P 1st turn, wide no cover backstretch, 3 path bid on the turn, and, couldn't finish with the top 2 in the lane --then again, they had better trips and went 1-2 around the track.

OH, and I love the JOHNNY V OFF angle. Odds are, he sits a little bit better trip tomorrow.

Put him at the end of a one number pick 3 with Black Watch and Quiet Harbor.

Attfield has had an atrocious record at Gulfsteam as far back as I can remember as well as he doesn't win often with firsters. This field isn't overwhelming but I'd rather wait till Keeneland for Attfield horses to come in where his horses seemingly run better.

He used to always give them one at Gulfstream before trying. I remember Bailey tanking a horse in his 7F debut at Gulfstream before breaking his maiden second time out on the stretchout and paying $31.

That horse went on to run 2nd to Cigar maybe even a couple times ( for another trainer ). Chuck was probably in Florida then ( it was 1994 ). Anyone want to name him?

I remember him training a good mare named Fairy Garden for Virginia Kraft Payson, La Carriere ran second to Cigar for Bond for the same connections I believe. Other than that without googling it's a great question/

blackthroatedwind 03-11-2008 10:51 PM

It was L'Carrierre.
