Commentator
I think he's the best horse in america, easily the fastest....
i think at 1 1/8 he would beat curlin |
I know I will regret responding to this.
he's a very fast horse, and a very good horse....with very real physical issues. He's 7 years old and has only made what 18 starts? as for the Curlin thing....WTF? no comment. |

I just hung up on Nick, luckily I saw the original post while we were talking and I was able to convince him not to ship Commentator over for the Dubai World Cup. |
Nyuk Nyuk Nyuk

I don't know why you would discourage him.....what makes you think that you know more tha pg85?

As for the World Cup, he'd be loose as can be in there - and might pull a Moon Ballad. It would be a very high risk/reward decision to run there. |
commentator is the best horse in the usa right now.... simple

He's just having fun. Compared to some of the drivel you post on message boards he's Shakespeare. |
I don't know about that, pg. Visionaire won the Gotham and KYRIM had a wp wager on him. I'd say Visionaire is the best horse in the country right now.

Quote:
have you consulted KYRIM's "experts"? I would like to make sure that everyone is in the same line here.... |

i dont get it ? the numbers say he is one of the fastest horses ever ? he defeated a champion going 1 1/8, what is the problem ? |

First of all, it's bad enough you are posting at all, but repeating your posts should be a criminal offense. Secondly, why are you quoting a response I made to another poster as though I am speaking to you ( try to answer only once )? The problem with Commentator has never been his talent.....the problem ( duh ) is keeping him sound. He is a 7YO, who has made 17 starts in what is now his 5th year of racing, so just hold your horses before you start planning too ambitious a campaign for him. First and foremost, hope he stays sound, and then perhaps, just perhaps, he will get a chance to run up to his true ability....wherever he runs. |
you guys are corny, the speed numbers back me up on this one,
why is this funny or a joke ? he is a special horse |

Don't ever forget it either. |
i would take him over curlin at 1 1/8
would you ? |
Quote:
whatever you say... penna ducks him today, smart move because i like chatain |
Quote:
he is a special horse like you are a special poster....both have infirmities. |

He doesn't have a bigger fan than me, but unlike you, the guy who told us Buffalo Man and Giant Moon couldn't lose today, I don't make outlandish claims about him. He's a wonderful racehorse. That's enough for me. There are many very talented horses who for a variety of reasons don't get a chance to show it. |

You're just Jealous of his good looks. |

i am not affraid to voice my opinion |

i am so excited... this quote is off drf.com
Mr. Farmer would love to win the Whitney with him again," said Zito. "He beat the Horse of the Year, Saint Liam, in 2005, and to do it again at the age of 7 would be the ultimate. He's had his share of problems along the way, but we'll keep him together the best we can and hope everything works out. He's a gelding, so he'll be running for the fans to watch - and that includes me, because I'm a fan myself." 2 time whitney winner ? hall of famer ? |
In all seriousness, is there a faster horse in recent memory that is so tied to being loose on the lead?
|
Quote:
today he was pressed early and kept going, which is something he has never done, also a great sign since he is pointing to the whitney. |

I hate it when horses with as much talent as this one can't stay sound. It is also hard to tell if you don't have inside information on the animal, when they are feeling their best and ready to go and win, or they put in a clunker of a race because they are hurting a bit. I have seen Commentator be absolutely brillant, and seen him have performances that would have left me scratching my head if he didn't have such a low number of starts all these years. Glad you talked him out of sending him to Dubai. Definitely the right decision. Now, maybe he can win some more GIs in the states with proper timing and management. |
Can you imagine if someone actually believed me that Nick was planning on sending him to Dubai?
Thank God that didn't happen. |

I was trying to say good job in a round about way. It's not like I haven't seen trainers over the years make stupider moves, and I don't follow Zito that closely. |

BUT why not ? the mile, he would jog.... not the world cup, there might be to much other early speed, plus i am starting to love that 9 million doller monster jalil, i think that is propper spelling. |
