And there will be many more to come, GIANT MOON

i was looking at some old threads and some people were very adament that a son of giants causeway could not win graded stakes on anything but turf...
i am a huge fan of giants causeways on any surface

Pedigree Ann 03-02-2008 03:00 AM

The horse himself nearly won the BC Classic on dirt, and both of his parents were dirt horses. Why couldn't he sire a dirt (or AW) winner? Sounds like these folks confused Giant's Causeway with Sadler's Wells.

Cannon Shell 03-02-2008 06:29 AM

PG1985 is that you?????

I believe that the thought was that Giant's Causeway was a much better turf sire than dirt sire....which he is.

Danzig 03-02-2008 07:43 AM

poor first samurai...how quickly you're forgotten.

having an occasional winner on dirt does not a dirt sire make...

KRIM and now PG1985? Surely makes up for the loss of mersemag....

it's him, no doubt.

Welcome back Captain Obvious. Since your actual identity has been confirmed.....did you know you have serious new competition as most ridiculous poster on the site? Did you return to try and regain your title?

You have some hard work ahead of you....but your pps say your up to the challenge. I am glad that your initial posts confirmed my opinion that Giant Moon is going nowhere.

the_fat_man 03-02-2008 10:46 AM

This is strange pheomenon. Who'd have guessed it, before coming to these forums, that HORSES had GROUPIES. Hard to believe that there are people out there actually fixated on these horses. Or, a related fixation, Pat Valenzuela. Pval posts dominate these boards. It's weird, man.

I'm sure Giant Causeway appreciates the concern/support. Makes his day, really.

miraja2 03-02-2008 10:50 AM

Well, I don't know who this jcs11204 might be, but I would sure like to welcome him to the board!
I am too busy celebrating my big score yesterday to worry about it.
Here is the story, after I saw that this son of Giant's Causeway was in the race, I went out to the OTB that I built in my backyard, and bet 14 bajillion dollars on him to win. Why did I wager so much?
Mainly it was because I knew he was unbeatable.

he will win the gotham, over what looks to be a very solid group.
is that considered going nowhere ?

First of all.. Yes. It is going no where... And I'm as big a Rick Schosberg fan as there is anywhere.

And 'solid group'? Solid group of what?

Texas Wildcatter..
Holidaze..
Eaton's Gift..
Ling Ling Qi..
Saratoga Russell..
Roman Emperor..

It's a solid group of $50k claimers, first level ALW horses, sprinters and restricted company performers.

People should stop confusing full fields of what-nots with 'good group'..

blackthroatedwind 03-02-2008 12:04 PM

Giant Moon isn't even going to win the Albany at Saratoga.

The Gotham? Be serious. This is funny.

It really is unfair when a guy works as hard as that poster did to build up as substantial a resume of insanity, as he did, and then he goes unrecognized.

Indian Charlie 03-02-2008 12:42 PM

what makes people think this is pg1985 reborn?

from just a very limited sample so far, i'd say this new person is nowhere near the inanity reached by pg1985.

pg1985 was by far the biggest idiot on here. i think it's unfair to his memory to start loosely throwing about comparisons to him when some nube comes on here with some less than intelligent observation.

we need to keep the bar high when it comes to making pg1985 accusations/comparisons.

not even KRIM deserves the PG1985 label. pg1985 is to KRIM as KRIM is to BTW.

All three of them are pretty much indistinguishable to me. :D

Don't kid yourself though IC, I think there is very little doubt at this point that the legend has finally returned.

Indian Charlie 03-02-2008 12:51 PM

then the end of times is at hand.

despite the possible apocalyptic ramifications of his return, i must admit, i did kind of miss him.

2 Dollar Bill 03-02-2008 12:53 PM

Giants Causeway ?

Is that the road you take to the football stadium in the meadowlands ?

blackthroatedwind 03-02-2008 12:54 PM

There is, actually, zero chance it isn't him. It is fact.

pick4 03-02-2008 03:06 PM

Maybe I'm out of the loop on some inside info with posters here. But what is the big deal about a Giant's Causeway offspring winning a Grade 1 race. GC is well bred on top and bottom for dirt and grass as well.

Look at the pedigree http://www.pedigreequery.com/giants+causeway.
His dam won multiple stakes on dirt and GC is a son of Storm Cat.

I take back anything good I've ever said about Giant Moon, he's gained a 2,000 pound handicap thanks to PG1985.
