Got any hip numbers you're interested in? I haven't had a chance to look at it yet.

Payson Dave 02-10-2008 11:59 AM

There are a couple of NYB fillies that I want to take a look at....hip#71 (by Hook and Ladder) and hip#131 (by Freud).

Rileyoriley 02-10-2008 06:47 PM

Hey Dave. Let me know what you think of the Peace Rules babies if there are any there. Thanks. Deb

The Bid 02-10-2008 07:50 PM

Dave neither looked exceptional on video

sumitas 02-10-2008 08:56 PM

and why did they not look exceptional ? Is there one you can point to and say is visually exceptional ?

The Bid 02-10-2008 09:02 PM

Yes there are a few

sumitas 02-10-2008 09:03 PM

Super. Can you disclose the hip #s here ?

The Bid 02-10-2008 09:05 PM

Sure what is your email

sumitas 02-10-2008 09:17 PM

Thanks Bid. I do understand not everything is public knowledge. I am not in the market for a 2 year old. Maybe a couple of the other posters will consult.

IrishofNDMan 02-10-2008 09:18 PM

out of the 20 or so I watched I like #33.

The Bid 02-10-2008 09:20 PM

He was better than average

IrishofNDMan 02-10-2008 09:20 PM

looks like a real nice colt.

sumitas 02-10-2008 09:38 PM

haven't looked at all of them. #22 caught my eye, The Songandaprayer. The filly is green but when she straightens out she moves well. Pedigree wise, this filly is kind of fragile for me.

The Bid 02-10-2008 09:42 PM

I wanted to like her but couldnt

Payson Dave 02-12-2008 07:51 PM

Hip# 71 F. HOOK AND LADDER /NAZDAROVE
GARY CONTESSA Took her for $75,000... more than I would have wanted to go to for her

Thanks.

The Peace Rules were the worst in the sale. Both of them were terrible. One sold for 40, and I believe one RNA'd.

Is this typical of what he is producing?

sumitas 02-13-2008 09:46 AM

I'd say the mare plays a large part in the foal. The physical compatability of the mare and sire are important.

Rileyoriley 02-13-2008 09:49 AM

I realize that but I just wondering what everyone thought of his foals overall. I've only seen a few in pictures, non live at sales.

Indian Charlie 02-13-2008 09:55 AM

indian charlie's sold well, especially considering the only slightly improved quality of his mares for this crop.

i think these were from the first year he stood for 20k.

The Bid 02-13-2008 10:36 AM

I have only seen one good one Riley

I didn't look at a lot of them but saw a filly that I really liked last september at the sale....she RNA'd at around 130k I think, and the owner was going to keep her and race her. problem was that she was on the small side and light like he was....not what most buyers want.

I apologize (I knew I was going to be wrong on that number)....I was thinking of another horse. I just checked my book that filly RNA'd for 47K. but she was a nice looking baby, small for a january foal, but a half to Mr, Livingston, so she had a little on her page. I think the owner was in love with her and wouldn't part with her for anything other than big money.

MISTERGEE 02-13-2008 11:29 AM

this must be one blazing fast track, or are all these horses worldbeaters
