Dirty little secrets

Anyone else want to 'fess up?

Those horses who just never seem to make it to the winner's circle but who you root for anyway? The "non-winners"?

Don't worry, I won't post my list (too many) but Go Now (hooray! :D ) is entered in R2 at Oaklawn tomorrow.

No expectations, no disappointments..... he can be last again but I'll still cheer him on.

Anyone else have one?

There is a gelding in the Mandella barn named Presidental Cause and while he hasnt set the world on fire, he has won several races including one on my mom's birthday. I just love the guy, and have since he started running. They gelded him hoping he would graduate from riding the "short bus" and act like a professional race horse, but alas he still riding the short bus and finding every way possible to screw himself up, but like I told a friend that rides him "Even short bus riding horses need love to"!!!!! :D

I know exactly who that is..... he was one of my early Derby boys. (I jinx them all...)

Nice horse. :)

Too many to list.

At the moment over here, it's a horse named Motarjm. Not a great horse by any means, but capable. He never quite gets there. I keep following him, but my pocket feels lighter everytime.

Stormont in America, for obvious reasons.

AeWingnut 01-20-2008 05:16 PM

every horse I bet

Rileyoriley 01-20-2008 05:44 PM

Dr. Pleasure. I loved his mother. Does anyone know where he is right now?

Payson Dave 01-20-2008 06:24 PM

Leo O'Brien had one by the name of Leo n Me...that I followed for a few years...

Patti Tiff was my last.

In the 70's at The Big T in Cleveland I use to follow Dakota County. Not sure why but would always bet on him. Showed some moves but never won so I figured keep betting and someday I'd cash big as he's go off at 30-1 or 40-1.

Well picked up the Plain Dealer one day to learn of a horse that electricuited himself on the walker...and it was guess who...Dakota County.

Still owes me about $30.....

Spyder

Lucky Straight...

What are the odds that this thread turns into a fight about Perfect Drift?

ddthetide 01-20-2008 07:47 PM

Dreadnaught, always tries hard and comes up short.

paisjpq 01-20-2008 07:50 PM

Slammin Sam. Runs last every time....but still gets entered every 10 days.

Rudeboyelvis 01-20-2008 09:36 PM

Punk

Dude was a 9yo a mdn when he finally broke in WV (think it was Charles Town for a nickel) I've gotta pull his lifetime pps... but I bet him religiously towards the end and scored at 8-1 I think....

letswastemoney 01-20-2008 09:40 PM

I read on FormBlog Perfect Drift was with Mandella now. Why is that? Because of his success with The Tin Man?

When I saw the title of this thread - I thought this might finally be the one where I get to regale all you guys with the story of when I masturbated to an info-mercial.

Looks like that one will have to wait.

I'll save mine as well then. Short version though, I had a Polaroid and had to put tape over a kid on a pony.

Miner's Lamp...so as you can guess I was thrilled about his second behind Chatain at 62-1! :)

Also Stag Dancer, Oedipus O'Neil and Brushed Prince.

I'm sure there are plenty that do, but they are too scared to say so :D

I saw some pics of him that a friend took at Ashford, he looks so gormless!

Oro De Mexico. He had 17 seconds in his career but I continued to bet him to win. Not good.

my miss storm cat 01-21-2008 04:49 PM
