Thats so funny.

Habersham000 11-18-2007 07:39 PM

Maybe is they geld him he will run better

Mike 11-19-2007 11:17 AM

pp's are up: http://www.brisnet.com/bris_link/pdf...cher_94982.pdf

Rudeboyelvis 11-19-2007 12:21 PM

Thanks for the PP's...I'd take a flyer on Stronach's firster over TGM. El Prado on top, A.P. Indy on bottom - at least he's bred for the trip...I don't know what stretching TGM out to route distance and trying grass for the first time is supposed to do, but I guess they need to try everything to find out if the thing can run a lick or not. So far, not.

ALostTexan 11-19-2007 12:22 PM

At least they are touring across the country with him.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, step right up. See the $16 million money-burning monkey live!!!"

Bobby Fischer 11-19-2007 01:48 PM

Can't toss the Monkey or the Frankel firster.

Gallagher and Baze are really going to ask Relentless Pursuit for a big effort. Win or lose I am watching to see if this one ever gets to run on the cushion track.

EDIT- no Lasix on the Frankel firster? is that legal :) ?

After Wednesday's race for the monkey, it could be on to Golden Gate and a maiden race on Tapeta, gotta' give that surface a try, too?

He's done plenty on the dirt, but adding that stamp on the green would only enhance his already impressive legacy.

Bobby Fischer 11-20-2007 11:53 AM

I still have some "fear" of a Pletcher move up. He's had other horses that couldn't seem to get a distance but up to about a mile and a sixteenth he has turned them around. The sprints were really speed oriented , and he did flash a little bit of speed (possibly more than any of the other Maidens in this race have)...
Now they have to be focusing on the late run @ 8.5furlongs Turf...

Hard to guess if Gomez is going to be taking the horse out on the lead and trying to "steal" the race, or if he is going to put a hammerlock on and try to finish strong - my guess is the latter but expect a forwardly placed MONKEY regardless:eek:

letswastemoney 11-20-2007 02:25 PM

What final odds are we looking at here on the Monkey.....even money?? 3/5??

I wonder if Relentless Pursuit is going to have enough speed to run at.

Just got a feeling the Monkey is finally going to atone....but he'll be too short...4/5 to 6/5.

smootsirvin 11-21-2007 04:10 PM

what a monkey

Wow....he had nothing after turning for home.

Glad I layed off the race.

Hickory Hill Hoff 11-21-2007 04:13 PM

Maybe they should.....Shock "the Monkey".....hey hey!!

Swale84 11-21-2007 04:26 PM

Has the Green Monkey done enough yet?

ninetoone 11-21-2007 04:46 PM

I say let him keep running...provides better value on the horses he runs against. Keep making him the favorite! :D

NoChanceToDance 11-21-2007 04:59 PM

Can anyone give me the visual of the race, please?

I wanted to watch for the laugh, but i had a bigger laugh watching England fail to qualify for Euro 2008! :D

hoovesupsideyourhead 11-21-2007 05:21 PM

It amazes me that people keep burning their money on him. But as long as they do, I am going to look at the overlays in the race that TGM creates.

fpsoxfan 11-21-2007 07:25 PM

Don't get me wrong because I'm not rooting against this horse, but why in the name of Cranberry sauce would people want to bet this horse down to even money? Of course the funny thing is, I bet against this horse and still lost. Anyway, maybe this horse will put it together someday, but not with my money.

Merlinsky 11-21-2007 07:58 PM

What now? Wait for soft turf and a distance of 1 5/8? Eventually they're going to run out of surfaces. Do they give him another year before they decide it's hopeless? (Notice I didn't say before any of us decide it's hopeless).

TheSpyder 11-21-2007 09:26 PM

The Green Monkey needs to watch the Saturday Night Live self affermation skits, "I'm good enough and darn it, everyone likes me"............not

Maybe it's the lowered expections skit.

Okay, okay, but at least he *IS* a damn fine looking horse! I'm ready to adopt him whenever they decide he's done enough. He'll make a fancy hunter or a fine looking trail horse.

ninetoone 11-22-2007 04:22 AM

He's the Anna Kournikova of horses...looks great, but never wins.

thats pretty good actually.

MaTH716 11-22-2007 08:57 AM

Maybe Steve should have asked John Campbell the other night if The Monkey has a future as a trotter. I would go to Freehold to watch him race.
