Chuck is at KEE and ready to move on a runner in the 2nd.. There were 2 we had interest in in this $25k 2yo CLM event, and one has scratched (#1 , Workinonthrailroad). The other may see a few claims, and if there is a shake and we don't win it, we will move on to the 10th... Stay tuned!

pmacdaddy 10-19-2007 11:22 AM

Let's get 'em!!!

PSH 10-19-2007 12:51 PM

Nice winner in the 2nd kee

Hope we got that one....
Looks like he can run all day
and like the fact that he is just a 2YO from great connections.
Here's hoping....

Bigsmc 10-19-2007 12:53 PM

What's Chuck's record with shakes? There had to be several claims in on that one.

pweizer 10-19-2007 12:53 PM

He did look strong. I like that move up the rail from a young horse as well. Let's hope...

Paul

My wife gave me the call over the phone. Sounded good...

Hope it shakes out in our favor!

Athletics005 10-19-2007 01:02 PM

Unfortunately, Targe was claimed by Michael Maker for Kenneth Ramsey.

Danzig 10-19-2007 01:02 PM

well darn.

no doubt he'd have been better off with us!

PSH 10-19-2007 01:02 PM

Darn

Not the Ramsey's......
Sometimes the world just isn't fair....
Oh well, just wasn't meant to be and there are obvious other opportunities out there
PSH:mad:

Antitrust32 10-19-2007 01:03 PM

:( here's to hoping for better luck in the future...

SniperSB23 10-19-2007 01:05 PM

Doh! That sucks.

pmacdaddy 10-19-2007 01:05 PM

Dang.

Kasept 10-19-2007 01:06 PM

It was 5 way shake..

Chuck said he was an OK horse too.. A bit offset in his right front, but would have been a solid claim.

On to the 10th..

Antitrust32 10-19-2007 01:21 PM

thanks for the update Steve, do you have any info on the mare in the 10th? shes a 5yo correct? I havent had an opportunity to look into her (cause of my computer situation) and I was wondering what you and Chuck think. Thanks.

Still haven't gotten that fix yet? :D

How's things going with the new job?

Kasept 10-19-2007 04:45 PM

1 MTP...

Chuck tells me there will be a 3 WAY shake for the #2..

Swale84 10-19-2007 05:08 PM

After a third to last effort I'm not too upset to lose that shake.

PSH 10-19-2007 05:19 PM

Relief

Not so sad to lose that shake either...
Although the horse and rider ran a strange race.....

Am sad that we lost that first shake though....

Onto other opportunities. A few claiming races this weekend.

Perhaps Workinonthrailroad will run some time in the near future since they scratched today.

Would we try to claim that one?

Doubtful.. Word came down that Maker was anxious to get rid of him (and Ramsey wasn't).. We'll take Maker's view.

Danzig 10-19-2007 05:55 PM

how are the next couple of days looking?

It was so true, watching Keeneland's 2nd and 9th and wondering if we were going to claim a horse or not, being in a couple of shakes all in all a good day, and being able to share it with the others on this board.....

AeWingnut 10-19-2007 06:02 PM

The guys from TVG picked the winner in the 10th. I didn't look at Bid Made so don't know what the problem was but there was plenty of turf blood in her pedigree

pmacdaddy 10-19-2007 06:02 PM

The fact that I am discussing missing shakes at Keeneland is stll pretty remarkable to me...

We missed a claim on a horse that just finished 10th!

herkhorse 10-19-2007 08:37 PM

Can someone tell me how how the shakes are done? Thanks

There is 1 shake in the case where there are multiple claims (with only 1 claim, no shake is necessary), with a pill placed in the bottle for each claimant. There were 5 claims on the 2 in the 2nd and 3 claims on the 2 in the 10th.

sumitas 10-19-2007 09:14 PM

wow, active day. the pics are real nice too.

DJARUM 10-20-2007 02:29 AM

I agree it was a new kind of excitement, Steve and Chuck thanks for the efforts I'am sure although it didn't work out yesterday it involved a lot of time, effort and planning.
Given the difference in claiming price ($25 - $16) had we been successful with the 10th race claim, what would have been the plan with the remaining bankroll?

Run her back where she could win, let her get claimed, betting the remaining bankroll and move the partnership up the ladder....or did you have a conservative strategy in mind?
