The Bid 10-04-2007 06:16 PM

Just a matter of time before the Indians open up on wing meing chun or whatever his name is.

Mortimer 10-04-2007 06:18 PM

Not as long as the Yankees have Bonehead Peralta going for them.

SCUDSBROTHER 10-04-2007 06:26 PM

Can't believe Froemming is allowed to work the post season, cuz he blew a call at 1st base by about a yardstick(last Friday in Milwaukee.) It was ugly.He is retiring(and he should of retired without working the post.) Don't you think if you missed a 1st base call by about a yard, then you would admit you're incompetent for post season work?

I agree, that call was awful. Was one of the better umpires, should have stepped down gracefully because MLB doesn't have the guts to keep him out of the post season.

fpsoxfan 10-04-2007 06:58 PM

He may of blown the one call you are talking about, but overall he's still one of the best umpires in the game. The umpires are selected based on a rating system by the players and coaches. He wouldn't be there if he wasn't one of the best.

That didn't work out. You looked too far ahead.

You may not want to watch tonight.

Byrd is going to get torched up pretty good.

The Bid 10-08-2007 07:53 AM

Byrd will give up at least 5 so they better get on the board early.

I'd have Laffey warming up in the pen when the Indians are batting in the first inning!!

I wonder if that ""drum guy"" can throw 6 outs ? Heck he has to have strong arms to keep drumming for How many years ?????

Suffolk Shippers 10-08-2007 11:13 AM

Wedge needs to throw Sabathia tonight and leave Byrd out of the equation.
Byrd has been bad for a month or more, and 5-6 innings of CC on three days rest is better than Byrd on like 11 days. Plus it gives you Carmona on full rest if game 5 is needed.

You need to go with Sabathia, and Carmona(if necessary) in these next 2 games.Yanks are gunna be tough now (trying to save Godfather's job.)You guys got a big break in game 2(in my opinion, with no gnats you wouldn't have got that tieing run off Chambermaid.)I'm not saying it was an unfair break. Both teams had to deal with it,but you had to deal with it after you tied the game(got momentum to put up with the bugs better.)Yanks were trying to protect a 1 run lead(with no guarantee that bugs were gunna stay around to equally bother Carmona.)Carmona already saw that the Yanks had to deal with bugs, too.Go with your 2 hot starters, and hope one of them is on,cuz they will be up against some real roaches now.

Cannon Shell 10-08-2007 02:19 PM

The Sox are looking pretty strong right now. Rested and waiting for whoever show up. The Yankees starting pitching is not looking very good and even if they win the next 2 games, they will have to use Pettite and may behind 2-0 to the Sox before they get back to him on short rest. And though he was strong the other day, he aint exactly Walter Johnson. Wang has been shaky, Mussina is in a body bag, Clemens looks like toast, Hughes was good last night but that was 3 1/2 innings. Cleveland is in a similar situation except they have 2 reliable guys but the back of the rotation is simply not good. They need to win tonight.

I would not start Sabathia today. Not on 3 days rest after throwing 114 excruciating pitches in game 1. They are still ahead in the series. In 1999, they were ahead of the Red Sox 2-1 and they started Colon on 3 days rest after he was briliiant in game 1 and they lost the game 23-7. It did not go well to say the least!!...they then lost game 5 in Cleveland. I think the best option for them tonight would be Aaron Laffey. He is unknown, the Yankees have never seen him and he is an extreme ground ball throwing lefty against a heavily stacked left-handed/switch hitting lineup. Byrd is a horrid matchup against the Yankees...a soft tossing/strike throwing/flyball pitcher in Yankee stadium. It is a terrifying situation for us Indian fans.

Goodnight Skankees from Cleveland

Indians forced to play League Championship round before certain World Series Victory

I Know ......I Know......The Tribe has the BEST pitching in baseball ......so many options, deeper starters, bullpen is simply "lock down" each and every time Mr Wedge pulls a string

And the Indians have the most clutch line up it is almost unfair for the Sox to have to TRY and compete with Chief Pizza Slice and his superior intellect and managing ability.

The Sox will just pick themselves off the floor and try mightly to play a full game each night. Of course Samnatha should have the Cy Young with all he did this year pitching all season long so dominantly.....

It's really a shame the Indians have to play the League Championship round at all....I mean everyone knows the blowhards from Boston have no chance. Such imbecile's ......did you hear Manny the Madman Friday night.....

"You know when you are still getting hits and you are still hurt all year long...YOU MUST BE A BAD BAD MAN to get hits like that. What an idiot....right.....oh yeah that was the thing last time ......The Bunch Of Idiots....made those poor Yankees play a full four games with all 27 outs that year what an outrage!!! Poor Poor Red Sox will just show up Thursday and the rest of the week to get hammered by the winningest team since the 1927 Yankees.....Well we'll just have to see how bad the scalping is .......I mean how can you compete??

Mortimer 10-09-2007 08:00 AM

The Red Sox should win.

But they're still a Gaggle of Fucl<os.

Good one!!! Plus, I bet you didn't know all 25 men on the Indians roster have bloody socks as well!! IF we're lucky, they'll all be on display Friday!! Samnatha actually has green blood. From his physique, he's obviously on the clear I guess turning his blood green.
