DrugS' ATR appearance..?

Shocked.. SHOCKED!.. that no one commented on DrugS' terrific segment last Friday on "At the Races"!

LINK: http://www.thoroughbredracingradione...dio/92607b.mp3

Doug was witty, pithy and informative and it was great having him bring everyone up to speed on Presque Isle's first meet.. If you didn't listen, here's your chance to hear the voice of the man, the legend..

freddymo 10-02-2007 07:52 AM

DrugS is the best!

That link is coming up blank for me... friday is showing up as "live from remington park" with:

Hour 1
RD. Logan, OK Thoroughbred Association
John DaSilva, NY Post
Woodbine Race of the Week with John Siscos

Hour 2
Marcus Hersch
Brad Free
Gus Alonso
Donnie Von Hemel, Trainer

Hour 3
Cliff Berry, Jockey
Turf and Surf: Left Coast Connection with Rick Hammerle
Brian Pochman, DRF

Which one do i go to?

I heard the segment. Very good!

Now that ATR has given DrugS his necessary credibility I have decided to make him next week's " Playing to Win " guest. While I am loathe to allow his dashing good looks to overshadow me, I feel it is important to subject everyone to his brilliance. I just hope he doesn't wear overalls.

Wasn't Friday actually.. Was Wednesday, 9/26.

Your Windows MP should have no trouble pulling it up. If it does, you may need a WMP update...

freddymo 10-02-2007 09:30 AM

This is wonderful. Two people doing what they were meant to do.. Must see TV

One can only assume that I will be next in line for a guest appearance.

Bigsmc 10-02-2007 10:43 AM

I congratulated him in the PID thread right after his appearance.

What about the restaurant napkin disguised as a tie that I'm wearing in Hossy's avatar?

You don't sound as old as you look. Good job.

All I see is your head leaning out of the stall.

my miss storm cat 10-02-2007 06:08 PM

I just listened to it but was distracted by how many times he said "you know" and stuttered.

This was actually my first time listening.... Steve has a rhythmic and melodic voice. Very nice.

"The fact of the matter is..."

"knawmean?"

"True dat"

you forgot
'that being said'
or the variation
'having said that'

i hate that phrase--almost as much as 'it is what it is'

Cajungator26 10-02-2007 07:31 PM

Irregardless isn't a word. :p

I'm sure I'll have some new ones made up by Saturday... the well known curse words aren't going to cut it when Florida plays LSU. :D

LSU better get their 'craws' in gear if they want to hand Florida their asses. The Gators are probably going to play like they've got something to prove after losing to an unranked Auburn.

Ain't that the truth! Saw plenty of that growing up as a Gator. :D

I think that South Carolina is going to win the SEC East, though... should be a great game.

Coach Pants 10-02-2007 07:48 PM

Gotta root for the Cats. If they win then a favor is being used to get tickets for the LSU game.

I'm sure you must really love TVG!

All of those guys sound especially polished - nevermind that they are rarely prepared and rarely informative.

The Gators have one major thing going for them - I think LSU will rout them and I'm rarely right about anything college football related.

honestly man, I think it's a Great Lakes thing... almost everyone I know from WNY, Cleveland, Detroit does the same thing, the "you know?" and whatnot.

The Indomitable DrugS 10-02-2007 09:09 PM

While it's tempting to blame such things on the region I live in, you know, I think in my case the real culprit is mental retardation.

You know, it is what it is!

Can't wait to see you on BTW's show.... the battle of the annoying. Balding, badly dressed, and unaware of body language Vs. "you know".

What a treat!
