Nice. I love listening to the AM670 and hear how scared they are right now. Being a Brewer fan, this season has been great. No matter how it ends. Fielder has 50 hrs, Braun has 33 since coming on in late May, Gallardo is extremely impressive as a young pitcher, it keeps going on and on. Fielder should take NL MVP, Braun is a lock for Rookie of the Year!. If Sheets could have just stayed healthy we would have had this division locked up. Honestly the Cubs should win the division, but unlike Lou I believe in the Curse!

It is a great time to be a Wisconsin fan! Go Brewers, Packers, and Badgers!

Dusty Baker didn't use to believe in the curse either..

Lets chill out a little. I will be concerned if the same thing that happened last night happens tonight, which I don't think will happen, but maybe I should say I think it will happen given how I have been running

As Wiphan said, the Cubs should win. In fact, they should have wrapped it up last week based on their talent level, but somehow it has dragged on to the point where they are sweating.
Unlike the Sosa era, this team is classy and hard to dislike, but....still, I can't pull for them

I must not be listening to the right radio, or the radio at all really.

Nobody I know is really that worried.

10 games left between the two teams -- only need a positive Cub-friendly result in 4 of them either way.

No problem. Don't get your hopes up dude :D

And let's revisit the Packers thing in about six weeks, k?

It's been many years since I sat in the bleachers at Wrigley. Scav, I will be jealous of you come playoff time. Do they still sell Old Style there?

Do I take a dump 3 times a day? Old Style is the ONLY beer I will drink at Wrigley, part of the stigma and growing up with Harry Carry in your ear.

My opinion of the bleachers is off and on. I absolutely love it but I can't stand some of the people that it attracts. If it is a rival series, you better bring your fighting gloves because every verbal disagreement turns into blows now. The last game I went to in the Bleachers was the Mets game and all the Met fans were going "Jo-say" like a hundred times so all the Cubs fans started "Whose Gay" a hundred times and then fistacuffs broke out. My dad is friends with an orginial bleacher bum, and I have talked with him many of times about that era and he said while people were still getting hammered like crazy, many good baseball conversations went on, and arguments about what coaches should do. None of that happens today, it is about the whore showing her tits and the girl in the cowboy hat, or the dude that is about to fall over.

Scav 09-27-2007 02:04 PM

And Bob, they are not locked up yet, if they win today and the Brewers lose then it will be locked up, 1 game with 3 to go, the only thing we have going for us is the Brewers have to play San Diego, and they have plenty of implications going on in the West

I think the biggest problem the Brewers have, besides not controlling their own destiny, is that they have to play San Diego in a 4 game series. Very hard to sweep one of those so then you are looking at a Magic number of 2 if they lose just one, etc, etc.

Turnbow was painful to watch last night. Looked like a scene from Major League when he launched that one pitch with bases loaded over everything

bob- plain and simple - the brewers biggest problem is that bullpen-we should not have to beven talking about trying to win a 4 game series this weekend against the padres

Can't argue with that.
I guess being able to have this kind of conversation at all in late September is a nice change, but it still doesn't help that much

yes i agree it is good to at least be in the race instead of twiddling our thumbs like the last 15 years- but it gets frustrating. i can understand a pitcher or two stinking it upout there in the bullpen. buts its the whole bullpen-none of them can pitch- yost can't rely on nobody-not one single pitcher to be consistent

The bullpen has been horrible other than Cordero, but I do agree it is September and the brewers are in the conversation. It is a nice change. Usually by July, I am counting the days to the Packers pre-season schedule.
Ned has mismanaged a lot of things this year, Turnblow has been god awful most of the time.

lol :) nothing against your team its that whack job you got coaching it. he may be a very intelligent at his job, but the guy sometimes just loses all common sense. to throw at fielder last night-prime example

Since you are a Cardinal fan, I will tell you that everyone else hates La Russa. He is a complete and utter jerkoff. Most of his team doesn't like him

cordero has done his share to screw us a few times also- tho the only one i can say you can put some trust into. that being said ned did not always mismanage , they were the right decisions just not executed by a horrible bullpen. blame the the bullpen not yost on this meltdown

Cordero has lost a few games, but he has 44 saves on the year. Imagine the crew's pen without him

i know what your saying , like i said he's the only one you can trust for the most part. but yes with out him..........heaven forbid we go back a couple of years and would still have turnbow as our closer. wouldn't that just be unjust torture!!!!! that thought just gives me the creeps. i think when they put the camers on turnbow last night -you know he was thinking why am i such a head case with runners on and well only 4 more games as a brewer -hope someone wants me
