Sunday: SAR 1st, SWLY, #7..

Starter ALW did NOT fill.. Just 4 entered...

Racing Office offered a 6f N1X instead which Chuck OK'd as SWLY is 'ready now'... 7 entered as of an hour ago... Dominguez would stick with us..

Final determination in a bit, but know that many people are waiting for an answer for their travel plans and wanted to get some news to you... Looks like there's a race to attend... Not necessarily exactly what we were looking for, but we don't write the cards...

Cajungator26 08-23-2007 11:57 AM

Thanks for the info, Steve...

I'm glad to hear she's running even if it isn't exactly what you guys want. I'll be parked at the Jai-Alai this weekend. :)

Thanks for the update. I wonder if they'll go :21 and :44

This might not be such a bad thing. She will be off the pace now and still have plenty in the take when making a move. Ramon is perfect for this type of stalking-first run type trip.

Thanks

Sightseek 08-23-2007 01:02 PM

Not the easiest field in the world if some of those fillies are in their top form...

Martin 08-23-2007 01:03 PM

We will be in attendance, too bad we got the first race though would have been nice to see early races to see how the track and rail are performimg. In any case it will be great to see her and everyone again. Will bring the Canaidan Beer and requests?:D :D

Wow. A pretty tough bunch, really.

Been loving on the 5 since her first time out. Sadly, her maiden breaker was the only decent time to cash on her so far.

Scav 08-23-2007 01:59 PM

REAL tough bunch. The horse to worry about is Mott's horse,#4 Meredith Bee, with JV up. That being said, getting this outside post should be a good thing as she isn't the only speed. The 6 is a 21.4/45 type horse so she will be 2w or 3w. Just have to hope that Gomez doesn't get speed happy on the 8.

COME ON MY DAUGHTER :)

I was one clamoring for a shorter distance!! As long as she runs it's all good. Think the 7f race if it came about was taylor made for her. This one will be tougher, but I think she'll do fine.

ddthetide 08-23-2007 04:05 PM

we have to CS horses to root for sunday. R1- Sumwonlovesyou, R6- Hacker Craft.

I think there is a big difference between 6f and 7f. I haven't been to the OTB since Sumwon's last race and don't know how the track is playing. I hear it plays different everyday. Hopefully the rail stinks and Sumwon is on the best part of the track.

I was the one "clamoring" for 9f. (I never said anything to Chuck about it). I really thought $$$ she would carry her speed.

I don't think you can claim distance as the reason Sumwon lost at Saratoga. The competition is intense. No one has gone wire to wire in a route (at least in the week before her race). The moment I saw the first fraction and the loose reins I knew we were beat.

either way

I hope I was wrong about the route distance and you are right about the sprint.

She should do well because I am not going weigh her down with the same amount of money I put on her last time.

Is Sanders 4 wins on the year all Teufelsberg? I see her as 3rd choice against these, the 4 looks tough.

I guess if we really wanted a 7f race, we could have entered her in the Ballerina Stakes. I was another one who wanted to see her in a 7f race. Even 6 1/2f would have made me happier....

My concern is the Assmussen filly, drawn outside of us but she is also facing winners for the first time.

That filly scares me as well as Mott's horse...tough spot, but better odds this time around.

SniperSB23 08-23-2007 10:59 PM

Mott's filly will probably walk all over us. Not exactly the 2/5 spot we were looking for. That being said though the 83 Beyer from a few back is the best of the bunch and if I was looking for fair value odds I would say 8/1. Not impossible but not too likely either. She looks great though, I can promise everyone that. She was a little sick last weekend but you see her now and she's like a whole different horse. She is ready to roll, I just hope six furlongs isn't too short.

Riot 08-24-2007 01:46 AM

Has anyone seen complete PP's yet? Where please?

Unstable 08-24-2007 01:53 AM

Complete PP's on DRF.com. The Graded Entries has Sumwon listed as the 3-1 favorite. I don't think 6 furlongs is what her training was pointing her to, but we have the race we have. I hope she runs well, get a good ride, and comes back safely.

On the Beyers her 83 is the top in the field. The Mott filly is coming off an 82 though and could easily improve as could several others. I'd think an 85 would likely be needed to win here, certainly not impossible.

On Brisnet you could make a case for most of the field being able to run to a 91 figure which is also Sumwon's career best. The average winning speed is 100 so this spot could have been much tougher. So if she can match her career best on both figures she has a chance. If she can run a career best then she is capable of winning but it won't be easy.

pointman 08-24-2007 11:19 AM

DRF has her at 6-1, ML's below.

Swill can refer to any cheap, usually poor-tasting beverage, especially beer or liquor of many kinds, or to food unfit for human consumption. This usage is likely derived from the term pig-swill, which is a generic term for waste products mixed together into pig feed. Pigs are notoriously indiscriminate in their eating habits.
