bullshit, what did you pull numbers out of a hat, that horse has not been competitive all year for that barn.

nice redboard....

onebadbeast 07-21-2007 06:22 PM

You Have Got To Bet Quinonez.

Kasept 07-21-2007 06:26 PM

The Dude (OBB) would not be showboating if he didn't have it... He is usually the first to acknowledge his BAD play, so we give him the BOTD on a good one...

And after all... He's 'The Dude'...

onebadbeast 07-21-2007 06:28 PM

Sour Grapes.......i Lived And Played At Del Mar For 30 Years. Yes I Havent Hit Anything Until Now!! I Dont Use Anything At Del Mar But The Program. Handicapping Doesnt Usually Work There.

friendly piece of advice, if you like a horse give em out before the race when they are hopelss looking, if not there is not a shred of credibility to your post....

did I tell you how much I loved red giant today....ya got to bet pletcher.

onebadbeast 07-21-2007 06:54 PM

Sorry Folks, But I Pick'em When They Are Loading And Have To Phone In To Expressbet. Try That With Voice To Computer Ten Times. Besides A Squirrel Will Find A Nut Now And Then Wont He?

Indian Charlie 07-21-2007 07:08 PM

hey, you never know.

i once hit the pick 6 pick 6, which is where you have to hit the p6 at 6 different tracks.

:)

10 pnt move up 07-21-2007 07:11 PM

The point is dont even redboard it, if you hit something like that just grab a beer and enjoy.

TitanSooner 07-21-2007 07:16 PM

congrats if you had it

ArlJim78 07-21-2007 07:20 PM

good for you. glad you had it beast,
if i posted every bet i made the board would be horribly cluttered, but if i nail a good one I would want to tell people.

Same here.

I've touted people on non-chalk horses I really believed in, but didn't pan out.

And felt bad for the touting if anyone listened to me.

(only once, here)

By the same token, I've nailed some double digit hits that no way in the world would I have felt confident to coerce someone to go along with me on, but liked 'em just the same.

Maybe OneBadBeast just liked where Alonso Quinonez was breaking from in this race considering the horses around him and the way the polytrack has been playing?

whodey17 07-21-2007 08:34 PM

man great job - and why cant you people just be happy for the guy.

alysheba4 07-21-2007 08:52 PM

i am glad someone cashed at that joke of a track..........that place sucked before ploycrap, ......if churchill and belmont switch to that ridiculas poly
i will never bet again.

its not a joke of a track, its actually a friggen great place which is hard to describe unless you have been there.....

that being said the polycrap sucks. I dont want to sound like sour grapes but I have been betting socal since I was a kid and know what the **** I am doing and betting on, but this **** is sickening. Today was the most fair day yet but its just random guessing on the long shots.

I heard brad free say spread in the multi race plays but its hard to go 10x10x10

what good is sounder horses if you cant handicap them? The crux of the game is still betting and sound horses wont mean much if you cant come close to breaking even.

I am actually up so far this week thank god to the turf, if they remove that I might be done forever.

onebadbeast 07-21-2007 09:24 PM

Nothing Else Came Through The Rest Of The Day. I Am Having Mental Trouble "calling In" Voice Bets. Do Better On The Computer, But No Expressbet Del Mar.

eajinabi 07-21-2007 10:23 PM

you said you had it but how did you play it?

onebadbeast 07-21-2007 11:09 PM

Just 4 Across. What The Hell Is A Red Boarder? Is That Like A Longboard In Surfing?

ALostTexan 07-21-2007 11:59 PM

A redboard is a device used to hit people who capitalize every word of every sentence...

Coach Pants 07-22-2007 12:16 AM

Good job! There is nothing more enjoyable than congratulating someone on here who boasts they've hit so and so AFTER THE FACT.

Hoorah.

I don't play pick 6's, and don't pay attention often to any of the pick 3, 4 or 6 plays.

So, I may be wrong.

But, if I am reading the Del Mar charts correctly, 6 winners also had OneBadBeast's hit in the first leg of the Pick 6 to collect a $112,000+ win?

King Glorious 07-22-2007 10:15 AM

Ok, I just read the charts from yesterday at Del Mar. Please tell me that there is an error on there. Please tell me that Buzzard's Bay, whom I've never thought too highly of but also never thought of as complete garbage, didn't LEAD the San Diego through fractions of 24.54, 49.46 and 1:14.06 and STILL couldn't hold on, finishing 8th, beaten more than 13 lengths. I can't believe that is how that race unfolded. Anytime a horse that's a graded stakes winner is allowed to lead a race in 49 and change and 1:14 and change on the dirt, they should be conceded the victory right then and there, especially in a race that's only 8.5f. What the hell happened? How does a horse that was absolutely last for 6f close to win going away after those kind of fractions? What the hell is going on?

.........being born and raised in so. cal. i have been many times since 1986. del mar is great to have cocktails and check out the most beautiful woman you will ever see at a racetrack by a country mile.......but as far as the racing itself, i have always felt del mar is very overrated.

the track was realtively fair yesterday so this is strictly a case of the horse hating the track.

kind of ironic as they skipped the Gold Cup, where the pace was slowish, for this spot.

I do think it is MUCH tougher to wire around two turns rather then 1.

Looking at the race though there were 7 horses withing a length or two of winnning, that tells me that the surface makes it that screwed up and we know nothing more now then we did before the race so what good is it as a handicapper?

FWIW, I read somewhere yesterday that one of the jockeys said the track is playing well for the horse that has "one run." Paraphrasing, he said he believed that any horse that has to work hard during the race to maintain a position is more likely to wear down and tire in the polytrack.

Another FWIW is that I read in advance elsewhere from Sun Boat's trainer that they were planning to go with the late run strategy. The trainer of Buzzard's Bay was quoted somewhere as saying they were going for the lead early and often (paraphrased).

The jockeys are still going to school on the strategy poly at Del Mar.

ELA 07-22-2007 12:14 PM

Nice hit. I've been watching very closely, until of course I leave for the Spa, LOL. I've also spoke with several jocks, trainers, etc. -- and I am liking what I see of the new surface. Just like with most of the others that have gone in, there will be a work in progress and life cycle to it. A major rain storm, a flood, whatever -- stuff happens to dirt, turf, synthetic, and so on.

As far as the redboard -- like I said, nice hit. I think too many people make too big a deal.

Eric

Migliore and Nakatani recently commented in detail about what the track is playing like. Migliore is a great on-track strategist, and a very "intelligent" rider -- what he says about the track, how it's playing, strategy, etc. can offer a great deal of insight.

I've heard people say the bias, and the comings and goings, are the same, and I've heard others say exactly the opposite.

Nice hit...but I am curious to your doubters...when I go to the Spa on Wednesday and see a bomb that I like...but don't run home to post it on here first and it comes in...when I come home that night to post my hit...am I redboarding as well?

The doubters are the ones who blame the surface, trainer, jockey, weather, everything but their own handicapping. These are the people who need to spend 5000.00 on a pick 6 ticket, but think something is suspicious when someone wins on a 16 dollar ticket. They couldn't pick APPLES,much less a horse to win. These are the people you should just ignore!!! That is who the doubters are!!

why do people on boards get so pissy about people that post what they hit?

i gotta believe that people that rarely 'redboard' arent actually redboarding at all, but just happy.

either way, who cares

Coach Pants 07-22-2007 04:02 PM

I really don't have a problem with redboarding, I have a problem with it being spread through both forums (selections and here) and thread titles being ambiguous (Del Mar). I don't want to read the crap if I don't have to.

I would be all for a redboarding/low self-esteem/who gives a sh.it forum where everyone can go to brag on themselves. If you're not going to post picks on a regular basis, and you insist on being the ******* at the track who doesn't inform his buddies of who he likes until after the fact (and only when their pick wins), then don't be surprised when you get a little heat from it.

GPK 07-22-2007 04:04 PM

a redboarding forum?!?!? I like it
