Me too, but if I had to pick from that group.. I wouldn't. Man do I hope that's not what the top of the jockey standings looks like in the future.

Gaines2b 07-09-2007 06:24 PM

Fernando De La Cruz, hot bug at Indiana Downs. But the field could include a new "Talamo" in the 10-15 year time frame.

FGFan 07-09-2007 06:32 PM

Joe Talamo I hope, but I am obviously very biased.
I think he is going to get apprentice of the year.

Coach Pants 07-09-2007 06:54 PM

Alonso Quinonez or Miguel Mena.

GPK 07-09-2007 06:58 PM

Fernando Jara??

surely you jest.

jwkniska 07-09-2007 07:05 PM

If I had to take one on that list, I'd take Raffy (Talamo's right behind him).

Things change fast
Talamo was in the 6th grade
Bejerano couldn't get a mount at Turfway
Leparoux was an exercise rider
Jara was lost in space
Alan Garcia was working at McDonalds
Eddie Castro was just getting started at Calder
Elvis was basically dead a year a ago

I am probaly biased but my $$$$$ would be on J.Lep and R. Bej. I think they are as good as any right now. I think they prove it when there on the big stage.
IMO, Jara is done, his main man (KMc) don't even call on him that much anymore. Invasor retiring is going to take him way off center stage.

philcski 07-09-2007 10:39 PM

Edgar Prado?

ELA 07-09-2007 10:40 PM

You have to go with the field.

Thanks.

I never got around to reading my will though.

I guess I'll just have to save that for the next time I die.

Derek Bell. By then Tampa Bay will finally clear him of wrong-doing... still without ever really telling him or anyone else what the wrong-doing was.

I can roll will Deshawn Parker finally having the guts to leave his nookie-blanky and leave Mountaineer.

From the list it's gotta be Talamo.

ELA 07-09-2007 11:59 PM

Is Talamo done growing? He's pretty tall now -- not sure how tall though.

I think the reference is to a YOUNG jockey. An "up-and coming jockey".

Question: "Who will be the best jockey in the country in 10-15 years"

estreetposse 07-10-2007 07:09 AM

Some little immigrant...

pmayjr 07-10-2007 08:19 AM

Daniel Centeno could be a major player by then (hopefully he'll be at major tracks instead of Tampa and Monmouth by then). And what about Jeremy Rose? JV Bridgemohan? Fogelsonger?
