Really...that's funny. Seriously, I believe my brother-in-law was Dennis's brother's college roommate.

dr. fager 06-29-2007 08:26 AM

What did one Grateful dead fan say to the other when they ran out of pot?

"Man! This band sucks!"

I don't feel that way, find the joke hilarious though.

thats pretty neat, i was 19 y/o then and never really listened to much Dead until i was 23. the radio station i listened to at work back then, played ALOT of Dead and Pink Floyd. i actually got hooked more on Floyd.

mclem10011 06-29-2007 11:29 AM

Andy.....

Yeah....in Maryland where the Capitols and Bullets used to play.

mclem10011 06-29-2007 11:57 AM

Exactly.....

I'm from Virginia, I saw many events in that building. It was a shame to see it go.

blackthroatedwind 06-29-2007 12:02 PM

I saw the Dead there many times....including the show in 1990 when they brought back Black Throated Wind after a 16 year hiatus.

mclem10011 06-29-2007 12:10 PM

Wow...

What a show that must have been. I went to alot of shows at the Cap Center in the 80's, AC/DC, KISS, OZZY, shows like that. As far as classic bands, was at RFK Stadium for the Who reunion tour, that was a great show!

I love the mellowness of it. Classic Dead.

Downthestretch55 06-29-2007 01:56 PM

I had the radio on when I was driving today and a song by Crosby, Stills, and Nash, "Teach Your Children" starts playing. Then the disc jockey said that the steel guitar on it was played by Jerry Garcia. I don't know if that's a fact but it seemed interesting. And that steel guitar makes that song.

My fave...Truckin'.

Mortimer 06-29-2007 01:58 PM

They should have originated Ride Captain Ride....but they didn't.

I woud have voted for that one.
