Tiger flat unlucky so far

Playing a great round...13-13 greens in regulation, driving right down the middle and -2 thru 13 yet...he hasn't made a single putt! Eagle hung on lip, several burdie putts appeared in!

Inexorabally rising to the top...1 stroke behind so far on moving day!

In a 4 way tie for the lead going to 17...and he could be 4-5 strokes lower...best ball-striking round I've seen at an Open.

Hangs a par putt on the lip on 18 for his only bogey of the day, 69 leaves him at 4 over...should be within a couple shots of the lead at worst...great round but could very easily been a 64.

Maybe...most tend to drop back a stroke or so late...18 is tough!

timmgirvan 06-16-2007 05:55 PM

It will be good TV tomorrow!

SCUDSBROTHER 06-16-2007 09:55 PM

HARD TO BELIEVE BADDS is a good ballstriker now. What a turnaround in that department. This would be the 2nd Major this year that has gone to a holy- roller type.

What?? He paints as a side job? Wow!;)

Samarta 06-17-2007 06:21 AM

Well my Chad Campbell predicition did well didn't it?

So with that said, I'm simply gonna say Tiger chews em up today....shoots 1 or 2 under and wins by 3....

GPK 06-17-2007 06:44 AM

Dresses shoots no better than 74 today. Tiger shoots +1 and wins

Coach Pants 06-17-2007 10:15 AM

I'm rooting for Bubba.

He lost his cool on one hole and had a triple bogey...take that away and he's leading the damn thing...unbelievably long off the tee...but I don't think he's mentally tough enough to go against Tiger in the Open.

ArlJim78 06-17-2007 01:40 PM

who in the hell is Bubba?

timmgirvan 06-17-2007 01:57 PM

that would be Bubba Watson....Long on talent....less on mindset. Give a couple years....

Let the melt down begin...triple on the 1st hole.

golfer 06-17-2007 02:30 PM

That was tough to watch!

Storm Cadet 06-17-2007 03:17 PM

Poor decision and then worse shot by Casey leaving it in bunker.

GPK 06-17-2007 03:33 PM

Whats with Tiger and his nipples pointing through that shirt? Guess his momma never taught him that its not nice to point.

I can recall getting excited to play golf...but never really to the point of arousal....

That was strange...having to blast backwards out of a greenside bunker then putting it right back in the same bunker with the next shot. Tiger starting to putt better, saving par from tough spots...the bird after the double helped him right the ship I think!

hoovesupsideyourhead 06-17-2007 04:37 PM

comon bubba watson..get 3rd...hes a local guy..10 miles from the house.

skippy3481 06-17-2007 06:29 PM

Flat out entertaining golf

GPK 06-17-2007 06:30 PM

Great tournament and a very deserving winner.

Tiger had his chance on Saturday to seize control....putter didn't cooperate.

Congrats to Duck

Storm Cadet 06-17-2007 06:36 PM

Don't cry for me Argentina!:)

Long time between birdies for Tiger

GPK 06-17-2007 07:35 PM

only 1 3-putt green in 72 holes is flat awesome....but never made a putt outside of 15 feet either..

Coach Pants 06-17-2007 07:47 PM

The tobacco industry loves the Duck. Quack *cough* Quack.

SCUDSBROTHER 06-17-2007 10:12 PM

It's pretty funny how Europeans have been so solid in the Ryder cup,but can't get it done in Majors. We now have had South Americans,South Africans,Americans, Canadiens,Australians,New Zealanders, and a guy from the South Pacific(FIJI.) Atleast, I think Fiji is down there somewhere. They've all won Majors, but no Euro has won one since Paul Lawrie won in '99? This is quite odd.

pgardn 06-18-2007 08:55 AM

Tiger is all buffed out, and a guy chain smoking with a pot-belly takes him. Big eating and smoking creates nerves of steel is the lesson? Or is this really an athletic event?

Well...is Sumo wrestling a sport?

somerfrost 06-18-2007 12:49 PM

And this cat cranked one drive 397 yards...and his iron play was masterful, I think that is a defined skill set. Not that long ago, many sports stars smoked and you wanta talk builds...got two words for ya...Babe Ruth!

So what if the guy smokes or eats more than someone else?

Tiger may eat more than the guy, but it certainly does not show. And the nicotine seems most natural for golf. Calm...

That body frame does not work too well in basketball. Never seen the Cabrera mold in that sport.

And do certain positions in baseball (Babe Ruth) require athletes. I know I (at 48 years old) could outrun numerous pitchers in the big leagues. Dont see that body frame in the outfield.

So is golf closer to Bowling, or Baseball pitching? Skills required, mind required, athletic ability... nahhhh. I guess Im looking at sports that require running as part of the game. Most sports I enjoy the most require one to move the body from one spot to another quickly.
