A-rod

enuff with the crying . what he did was perfectly fine and it happens all the time. ask any infielder and they will tell you. its torontos 3rd basemens job to catch that ball no matter what. he blew it and its his fault . its just sour grapes

Danzig 06-01-2007 05:10 AM

was listening in on mike and mike, who called his actions 'bush league' and then colin cowerd said there were no rules against it.
i agree, quit whining and catch the ball next time!!

good for a-rod, he should get a bonus.

i like watching mike and mike , but i seen that also "bush league" thats a laugh . its been a part of baseball since day one. stealing signs has been part of the game also. you adjust. i'm just upset his teammates are not saying anything or suporting him -any other yankee and they would defend him. its like the yankees just distance themselves from him. i guess its the price you pay for being the highest paid player. always a target for sportswriters etc.

A rod is crying for other reasons... :)

some deserved some just unwarrented. in the end he has the chance to be one of the greatest players in the game and smash records if he stays healthy and can play a long career.

I don't think this happens all the time. If it did, it wouldn't be receiving the amount of attention it is now. Of course, being Arod is going to bring it more attention but I don't think it's normal. I absolutely think it's bush league on his part. Actually, I think it's little league on his part. It's like some 10-yr old sitting in the dugout at his little league game yelling "aye batter batter.....swing". There are some things u drop once u become a pro. I think Arod is great and he's one of my two favorite players. But I can't support him on this.

I'm not a Yankees fan, I always enjoy watching him play and hope he does well. A-Rod is one of the greatest players I've seen in my lifetime. What he did the other night was not bush league. When he tried to knock the ball out of glove of the infielder a couple years ago that to me was bush league.

If it was Jeter who did it, the media would say that it was a hedy play and he was doing what it took to win. But since the media hates A-Rod, it is just something else they are using to make him look bad.

Yeah, cause the blond didn't make him look bad at ALL. The media had to make something up. :D

Agree...the guy can't win...he hits around .300, drives in 120 runs, hits 35 hr's and it's a "bad" year and the media is ready to lynch him. He seems to be doing everything that I would expect from a teammate, this wasn't "bush league", it was him trying to win...I think that's the object! The off-field thing is none of my business...period!

Nope it is between him and his wife, but it still shows what kind of human being he is.

I don't care what the guy does in his personal life. It's none of mine or any one elses buisness!

I was being silly about that comment. Sarcasim.

MaTH716 06-01-2007 01:23 PM

Even the play against Boston, it was cheap, but it was desperation time. The guy was tring to win! If A-Rod would have hit the ball that Jeffery Maier grabbed he would have probably been called out. But in NY Jeter can do nothing wrong!

Ridiculous statement...I hate the Yankmees but Jeter is a class act and he would not pull crap in the first place. ARod is a piece of crap...no matter who he plays for...He is a me first guy. I'm not saying he doesn't have any talent as his stats prove otherwise. He IS "Bush League"...Bottomline!

Really? How is that? I don't know anything about A-Rod's marriage and I'm not entitled to know...people sometimes do stupid things, doesn't damn them or their character. Again, it's his business...I don't want to know but I certainly get tired of folks judging others without all the facts!

MaTH716 06-01-2007 01:34 PM

Jeter is the golden child that can do no wrong in NY. He also as captian has never embraced A-Rod as a Yankee. I really believe that if he backed up A-Rod, then A-Rod would not take as much heat from the fans and media. He stood up for that juiced up Giambi but never has ever defended A-Rod! They all sucked in the playoffs last year, Sheff, Matsui, Posada (who always get a pass and it drives me crazy. Wonder if it is because he is Jeters best friend). They all stunk, but it was all A-Rod's fault.

They have stunk up the playoffs for years with a $200 million+/- payroll.
I think ARod would be treated like he is no matter where he goes...I'm just glad the Spanks got'em and not the Sox!!!:D

I don't believe that you guys do have the photo with the purse!

Buffymommy 06-01-2007 01:48 PM

HA HA! Not to try and bad mouth him, but that is a funny picture. Doesn't he look like he should be saying "Get away you big stinky"

Don't get me wrong, I would love to have him on my fantasy b-ball team.

I've got it with the purse but I can't get it to fit as an attachment.

Where I work they made t-shirts with that picture on it. They were pretty good.

More bad news for George and friends...

When Jason Giambi came up, he was mentored by Mark McGwire. While Giambi may have modeled himself after the big slugger, I'm sure he didn't want to mimic one of Big Mac's more debilitating injuries, but after dealing with bone spurs in his feet, it appears that something simply gave out. In this case, it was the plantar fascia near the arch. Giambi will miss a minimum of a month, with a chance that he'll be done for the season. McGwire missed the better portion of two seasons because of a similar injury, and was younger at the time it happened. It's impossible to say how this will come out: most players come back from plantar fasciitis and tears, but the timeframe for their returns are so varied as to make any guess simply that--a guess. It's another devastating injury for a team that is going to have to shuffle the lineup once again. I guess Giambi could take some kind of suspension now if Bud Selig still wants to go that routes

My hubby will not be happy about this.

The hubby is not having a good day. First some lady rams into the back of his work truck and now he loses Giambi. He is going to be CRANKY! I better stop and buy some Jelly Bellies on the way home.

MaTH716 06-01-2007 03:03 PM

I am sure that the NY media will blame A-Rod for this too!

On tonights game alone...Pinnacle has the Sox @ -1.5 +190 and +104 on the money line.

both seem a bit generous to me.
