Any big hits lately?

I promise this will be the only time I ever gloat. But I hit the exacta in the last race at Churchill today. Only for a $1, but it still paid over 1k. 65-1 over 11-1. Hopefully your guy's day were equally as prosperous.

Any big payouts for y'all lately?

I bet on Sumwon to place.
Sumwon placed and I placed 200 extra dollars in my wedding, new baby, teachers flooded out of their houses, slush fund.

So now I close slowly in on Scavs, and Bigs 5 trillion dollar hit. I believe I will reach that plateau a few years after the Sun explodes and we are all kilt.

Congrats. But the Sun will eventually explode and you and I will be kilt.

Were you born on December 3? How else could you have that 12-3???

Nice Hit!

ArlJim78 05-26-2007 07:12 PM

No big hits on my part lately.

But your exacta was huge! Whenever you're signing for an exacta its a pretty nice feeling. Don't worry about gloating on a hit like that. That one is remarkable.

Question, what made you play it? What was your thinking?

ateamstupid 05-26-2007 07:25 PM

I just hit that $11.60 exacta in the Golden Gate finale. Good times.

No!:(

The race looked like it had a lot of speed in it. So I tooik 3 perceived closers. Also, I play bombs. So my win % is like 2%, but how much I win is huge when that 2% comes in.

I hit $1,100 pick4 on a buck at HOL Friday night (early). Best part is I called out wrong ticket on phone with OTB. Said #1 instead of #3 in first leg. Couldn't figure what the heck was going on when I checked my balance...

Better lucky than good.

Biggest hit I've had lately was a $1000 credit voucher I found in a machine at Pimlico on Black Eyed Susan Day. Tried to put in my measly $80 voucher and out pops the $1k voucher. Stood there stunned for a minute, then waited for someone to come back in a panic so I could give it back to them.

They never came back.

I tried to cash it yesterday. It was dead.

Felt good, yet guilty, for 8 days...... :)

Nothing wrong with a little gloating when you throw a 65/1 shot in your exactas play AND you take it home, over an 11/1! Gotta love that.

Forgot to mention this earlier, but, I think it is fitting you cleaned up on the nightcap at Churchill, which was $10,000 claimers I think? For the self professed low level claimer lover who thrives on the $4,000 claimers at Turfway, Mountaineer, Finger Lakes, etc.

Congrats again!

pmayjr 05-27-2007 03:39 PM

TY sir.

Yeah, I'll always be a guy who wins way more with the **** claimers than with the Alw 44Kn2x races at Belmont.

DerbyCat 05-27-2007 04:00 PM

After having a decent week playing Churchill, I went on tilt yesterday and wiped out my entire online account - the race you won on ate my last $150... I'm taking a little time off so I don't blow $500 in one day again :(

Seriously though, nice hit! :)

pmayjr 05-27-2007 04:13 PM

ouch... sorry to hear that man.

You just had an "off-day". We all have them.

I've seen a lot of talk about people giving up the game for awhile and bla bla bla bla bla. Not to sound indifferent ot it or anything, but we've all had our bad streaks.

Not in every form of gambling, but in horse racing I think you can apply it to a jump shooter (basketball) in a slump. How does a basketball shooter get out of a slump, they keep shooting. If you're making good, educated decisions in your bets, the same kind that have won you $$$ in the past, stick with it. That knowledge will eventually get you moving in the other direction... back to the good streaks I mean.

Except a jump shooter can't end up in debt for decades if he keeps missing jumpers.. If that were the case, Kobe would be screwed.

Very true, and that's why I said it doesn't count for all kinds of gambling. So if you lose at Blackjack, DON'T KEEP PLAYING. That advice above doesn't count.

But if your betting stretegy (in horse racing) has made you plenty of $$$ and has worked for years, why change? That same strategy will still win you money. I'm saying we all go through our losing streaks. It just can take longer than we want to get out of them (for me: see most of 2006). But if you quit playing for awhile, when you decide to come back, use the same strateegery.

Well, as mentioned earlier, you inspired me to throw something together for today, so I played a $12 late pick 4 at HOL 10 times...

Hit it, $1 payout was $77, so $65 profit played 10 times is $650.

I'm happy with that going into Monday

pmayjr 05-27-2007 08:38 PM

nice hit!!!!

You know you're gonna give a lot of ti back tomorrow lol... I probably will too unfortunately. That's why I paid a bunch of bills with the $$$ and mailed them off NOW, so I can't blow too much of it hehe.

Danzig 05-27-2007 08:42 PM

congrats on that hit! very nice.

2MinsToPost 05-27-2007 09:09 PM

I smashed my hand loading a bunch of corn onto a cart. It was a big hit.

pmayjr 05-28-2007 07:05 AM

I watched that movie with Markie Mark and Lou Diamond Phillips, what was that called again? Oh yeah... The Big Hit

paisjpq 05-28-2007 08:12 AM

I say gloat gloat all you want. I hit a nice little pick 4 the other night at Los Al. That has been about it for me lately.
