P!nk

So I guess that I'm about a year (57 weeks, to be exact) behind the times, because I never even knew that her last record came out.

I loved her second record, but then her last one was just terrible, so I had sort of written her off as going overboard.

Thanks to an appearance on Ellen and Idol, I downloaded her "new" record.

And oh boy, it's delicious pop meets old school arena rock with huge choruses and her usual huge voice carrying it.

I'd suggest checking it out if you like that kind of music at all. Better late than never.

I was never really a fan but I LOVE that 'dear Mr. President' song that she wrote...i listen to it all the time.

I have to DL that song from ITunes tonight, because it wasn't on the version of the CD I downloaded -- I realized that on my drive to work today.

I just liked her personally from the beginning and while she may be a little bit more on the pop side with this record, I can't stop listening to it.

I f*cking love this album. I bought it last year for "Stupid Girls" and the album became my soundtrack for the summer. How awesome is "Leave Me Alone, I'm Lonely?"

"Dear Mr. President" is a little on-the-nose for my taste (yes, I know you're all slack-jawed. I'm sure Timm thought it would be my ring tone), but I'm so impressed the song got banned from several high schools. Who manages to get themselves banned from high schools these days? And for a political song? Good on ya, Pink! I wish she'd been around when I was a teenager- I could have really used her music then. "Outcasts and girls with ambition" indeed. :)

Back in my day it was Frankie Goes to Hollywood getting banned in my school. Such a simpler time...

At this rate, it's going to be my soundtrack for this summer! I'm of course enjoying "Who Knew" but I've really been going crazy over "Long Way To Happy."

Pink

From one racing fan to others, not only is Pink as good as some of us recognize, she's even better.Go to one of her concerts.Great music ,gives 110% every night, great voice and stage presence, every kind of song performed, and the finale is an acrobatic performance while she sings Get The Party Started that is better than most circus high flying acts.If you don't believe me check out the Youtube videos of her concerts, the clearest being from Wembley Arena.

I understand completely, even though I've never seen her live I've seen the videos. I have always said that I'd love to see her perform in a club for like 1,000 people instead of a huge arena.

I think she's one of those musicians who sort of got pegged as a "pop artist" at the beginning and had all of the negative connotations about musicianship that went along with it. I think her second and her fourth records really set her apart as an artist. She's not writing intellectual songs, but she is a damn good songwriter who is damn good at what she does. I feel that like Kelly Clarkson, she also crossed that all important line from pop music package artist into a full fledged artist.

Hey,I'm with you.I discovered Pink as a real artist when I picked up and listened to I'm Not Dead on MLK Day or Presidents' Day,and Mizunderstood after it.I wheeled Street Sense, but had other stuff too,so made a small profit.I don't think he's a lock, but am inclined to play him and either Hard Spun or Curlin, but not both, each 1st and 2nd,with all in the tri,and hope a bomb comes in 3rd.But we'll see. P.S To show you how good Pink is,how broad her appeal is,I'm JF's (a college student's )dad(and his picks are usually better than mine,as he bet Street Sense straight and had the tri.

That's my favorite.

Can't stop listening to this song,it's near perfect.Try the Youtube videos of Pink Who Knew Croatia and NEC(somewhere in England). The song gets even better with an energetic crowd behind her,one of which doesn't speak English!.Also try the Pink Wembley Get The Party Started Video. It's not my favorite song(although I heard her say it's the song that really made her),but the acrobatics are one of a kind.Oh,and the tri?
