Ravel?

ArlJim78 04-11-2007 08:39 PM

Premium Tap is not even on par with Rags To Riches?

Seattleallstar 04-11-2007 08:43 PM

premium tap is one of those horses that would run 2nd to spectacular bid, and ghostzapper, then would run 2nd or 3rd to horses like Wooden Phone, Naughty New Yorker, Puerto Madero, Early Pioneer, Ecton Park

What about the Clark and the Woodward last year?
Or his "prep" race for the DWC?

I thought he won the Woodward and the Clark?

2nd in the DWC and 3rd to Invasor and Berardini in the BCC IMO is pretty good. Definatly should be in the top 5 on that list

Seattleallstar 04-11-2007 08:47 PM

the Clark is for loser horses who couldnt hack it in the BC Classic so they are given another chance to win a prestigious race with a decent purse, plus the Woodward hasnt been the same the past few years

His Clark performance impressed the hell out of me.

Didn't realize I had one. Care to inform me on who he is?

Seattleallstar 04-11-2007 08:57 PM

lets examine the woodward runners

2nd of June--was hurt for a while, and obviously wasnt the same horse

sun king-- i love sun king, but he wasnt quite top class but won his share of races, and very consistent

Papi Chulo--i mean this freakin horse could run, but it couldnt pass a horse down the stretch when it counted

Funny Cide--well hes washed up and will show up once in a while

Naughy nyer---top class ny bred and ny stakes horse. But the Woodward puhhhlease

Wild Desert-- a mirage from frankel/dutrow into making some believe he would turn into a top class horse after Canada

Flower Alley--wonderful great horse a true Grade 1 performer, but just didnt come back the same FLower Alley

Andromedas Hero---a first class plodder but couldnt win a damn race

suave--didnt run a lick that day, was probably a Grade 2 horse at best

k9styl94 04-11-2007 09:33 PM

Don't forget Zanjero

Zanjero has Gomez on him in the 1 hole.
If this horse, I mean if this horse wins Gomez rides him
for the Derby!!

Well if this horse was in the Woodward, and Premium Tap beat him in that race, why did you say earlier in the thread that PT is the type of horse that would run second to Naughty New Yorker? That doesn't seem to make sense.
If you think Premium Tap is a bit overrated, I think you could make a case for that, but having him ranked below a horse like Ravel that hasn't exactly accomplished a lot AND is on the shelf right now, seems rather odd.

its more then odd its insane, if i ever posted this garbage there would be 50 ppl ripping me apart, how can you put ravel above premium tap, actually how can you put half of your top 10 above premium tap?

This is absolutely the worst top 10 list I have ever seen. I have to admit I'm glad it was posted though because it is hilarious.

that's why I thought it was intended as a joke. why would a top ten list have eleven horses?

but yeah your point is well taken, to put Admire Moon, who just won a $5 million dollar turf race against the best in the world on the same level as Curlin? and below Rags To Riches? its hard to write such comedy.

Well the eleven horses thing didn't bother me, as awhile back I had a (/) on my fifth spot for my Derby horses. It's usually used when someone is really having a hard time figuring out that very bottom spot. But yes, a twice race three year old on even terms with a grade I winning monster.

If this list were a horse in a race, the DRF comments would say "no thanks; toss."

Why would nightmare affair be on there? What telling expose on the validity on the list Curlin is a legit Ky Derby horse and top 3 yr old? Admire Moon is a well traveled handicap horse in Japan who won in Dubai? Whats the problem?

Why on Earth would Curlin be on par with Admire Moon?!

My list is only slightly more absurd.

I don't even know why I'm trying to reason. It's like PG1985 redux.
