Use of 'Quotes' in Signatures

Don't want to get into a grand debate, but am moved to ask that the practice of using the quoted posts of other DTers in signatures as a means to belittle, end.

There is every opportunity to respond to posts that are worthy of derision, but putting those statements into your signature is an over-the-top attempt to ridicule and demean. It simply is mean-spirited.

Thanks.

robfla 04-03-2007 06:39 AM

i have one of pais' as my signature, because i thought it was cute-but i'll take it down if necessary, wouldn't want anyone to think it's something it's not...

Your signature, and quote's that are NOT designed to humiliate, are of course, OK..

so...that must be scat daddy you were tossing in his next....

i didn't think he'd win it either. i bet if you took a poll, you'd find many felt that way-if they were being honest.

You're welcome.. But be advised.. I can address the signature quotes but not 'posts worthy of derision'...

Good enough. Then every Morty post can be called to task.

You got a sense of humor, and that counts for a lot...

Why do some people feel the need to be mean? Didn't their parents teach them to "treat others as you want to be treated"? I guess not.

pointman 04-03-2007 08:40 AM

More often than not, it helps their own insecurities.

Nope, I say:

Get off the phucking road, you lousy, stinking rotting whore. Learn how to drive, you piece of shiat! :D

It's ok with me. You might want to ask Steve since that pic is making fun of BBB. But more than likely BBB isn't a snitch like PG and Grits (who between the both of them have caused nothing but trouble since they registered) so you should be ok.

OMG did I say what I just said in that caption? Oh me and my big mouth.

Please see the Hammer Morty thread.

It isn't nice and it is a sign of a very insecure person.

All right already!!

We get the message!

Honestly, the world is a mean place. When you get cutoff while driving do you wave and say thanks at the person who did it? No you say screw you and carry on.
I think the point is this is a message board. Taking things to heart that people say here, especially those that you will never even meet, or you don't care about is ridiculous. People argue about stuff here. That's what happens in a message board. Would anyone come here if everyone just agreed on everything? When you argue sometimes "mean" stuff comes out, it's natural.

Maestro!

Thanks! It really is the best av ever, but I'm sure I'll find a new one eventually.

I wasn't directing it at anyone in general, just saying that if everyone treated everyone else with the same respect that they would like the world may be a better place. Just trying to help in part of the world, like a horse racing message board that is a wonderful place to be. MEAN PEOPLE SUCK!

Yes, I do curse others if they cut me off in traffic. One of my bad habits. I have too much road rage, which is why I do not get a license to carry a fire arm. I leave that to my hubby. :D

You can disagree with people on a message board, but you don't have to do it nastily or call people names or try to degrade someone. It isn't nice and it is a sign of a very insecure person.
