And the 2007 Kentucky Derby Winner Is....#9

#9. I don't care who he is. He is getting some action from me.

Remember last year, the artwork for the Derby? The picture was a horse running away from the field, and he was the #8 horse. Well, the #8 horse turned out be Barbaro.

Well, this year, the artwork features a horse wearing #9. So, I am going to forget the rest of these prep races and handicapping, and just put $50 to win on the 9...

So Right You Are!!

That's funny that you said that because I had a dream that the horse coming out of the 9 hole won the derby. No joke. I'll put $5 across on that number for shiats and grins. :D

miraja2 03-28-2007 07:44 AM

That sounds like a good strategy UNLESS the #9 horse happens to be Cowtown Cat, because as we all know, I have already guaranteed that Cowtown Cat will finish EXACTLY 16th in this year's Derby. There is no doubt about that.

opusone 03-28-2007 08:31 AM

Last year was the triple crown of 8's
Barbaro, Bernarndini, and Jazil all wore the 8 on their cloth.

Another one. Sure! And I know you had that $9,800.00 exacta a couple of years back with Giacomo and Closing Argument betting your dead aunt's former house number.

I love these. Rolling in the cashed tickets, and filthy rich, laughing at the rest of us who shlep along.

At this point, I think Nobiz is going to be right there, but this field is going to be so deep, that untill Derby Day, I don't think I can even make a educated guess.

The 5 is 2nd and looks like he's preparing to file an objection confident the 9 is coming down. 5-9 ex box.

you keep talking about him finishing 16th--wouldn't it be something if the horse in the 16 hole won the race?!?! you'd be almost psychic. i say almost, as i really don't believe in psychic powers--sunday silence winning after i dreamt a black horse won notwithstanding...after all, i also dreamt that peace rules won. wrong chestnut.

ALostTexan 05-04-2007 02:14 AM

Well, I hate to put all of my money on Liquidity this year, but I already said the #9 was going to win, so he has to have my money...

If he ever got his head on straight you might come away with something. It could be worse and he could have no talent whatsoever. He might decide to actually try this time so cross your fingers. Motivation or lackthereof seems to be his thing right now.

BansheeBreeze 05-04-2007 08:54 AM

well at 30-1 on the morning line it might actually be worth it.

$5 across on my original pick for the derby winner...

The talent is DEFINITELY there with this guy... he's just a quitting hanger. UGH... hope he decides to run.

saucon17 05-04-2007 09:40 AM

I think he has a great chance of hitting the board if the track is very messy. Love those Rahy's in the slop.

AeWingnut 05-04-2007 09:54 AM

don't forget who is running place behind the 9 , #5.

I think the Liquidity/ Imawildandcrazyguy exacta is going to be what? $10k

AeWingnut 05-04-2007 09:56 AM

along the same lines...

I bought some new underwear

to be breif

the inspector was 14

guess that means that Scat Daddy is a mortal lock

Liquidity? Liquidity was always one of my top five horses to win the Derby (until he ran two clunkers in a row.) I've liked Scat Daddy since he broke his maiden. Liquidity is a hanger... Scat Daddy is NOT. Scat Daddy is ALL heart... the two couldn't be any more different. I hope you were talking about Scat Daddy and not Liquidity... lol.
