One of the long shots will take this.

Yes I am kidding. Now watch the little guy run and win the thing.

blackthroatedwind 06-23-2006 03:06 PM

It is my understanding that Sun King isn't running until the Whitney. I'll ask Nick this weekend.

Cajungator26 06-23-2006 03:06 PM

That list is just the nominations... I can't seem to find the actual entry list.

You sound like Dickey !!
If you talk to "Nick", ask him whatever happened to Pie's Prospect.

blackthroatedwind 06-23-2006 04:42 PM

What is that supposed to mean?

It means that Nick trains Pies Prospect and if anyone knows if & when he'll make his next start it's Nick (We are talking about Zito here, aren't we?)

Blackthroatedwind,
At times, especially here, you have to just accept the fact that some people might "mean" to say something, and then, it becomes apparent that it is "meaningless". It happens all the time. There's no more I can explain.

I meant the " You sound like Dickey ".

I understand that Nick trained Pies Prospect. However, I won't be asking him about him. I'm sure if you see him some time he would be more than happy to tell you.

If I knew I would tell you. I assume he's retired.

It's a weak bunch ...

... Mayan King is ready take these guys ... he's a true 10f horse ... and most of the rest aren't.

I hope Gary Contessa changes his mind about going to Iowa ... and stays home.

Hey, Gary ... you can't get a decent sfogliatella in Iowa ... stay home !!!

The inevitable march to Horse Of The Year ... starts to get serious.

Gander 06-23-2006 06:04 PM

Sun King is much better going shorter distances. Not sure why they would fool around with anything longer than one mile. His new closing style works in races like the Met Mile and in 7F sprints where the pace is like 22 and 45.
No way does he have enough game to be effective going 1 1/8th miles or longer.

A weak bunch?

Excuse me Bold but Invasor is a TRIPLE CROWN WINNER and HORSE OF THE YEAR. Oh and he DID win the Pimlico Special.

~ sunday (incase you haven't figured that one out)

I agree and don't think Sun King shows up in this one.

Oooh ... oooh ... oooh ... Uruguay ... the Turkey of South America.

Is this the same horse who couldn't win in Dubai?

Let's move on from this past Horse-of-the-Year-July 1-June 30-if-that's-a-real-year ... and concentrate on the next real Horse-Of-The-Calendar-Year-2006 ... Mayan King!

(Yes ... you've been spotted ... and tagged ... just go to the "General" section of this Forum ... and look at the "Demographics" thread.)

I've been spotted? I signed my name for God sake. AND I just posted on the thread you mentioned.

Let's drop the bull****, okay?

What about the Pimlico Special, Bold? Seriously..... how did he look to you? Any potential there from the Nathan's-Clam-whatever- in-the-cold-at-Aqueduct-I-thought-I-knew-the-story-by-heart-but-guess-I-don't capital of the world?

C'mon, admit it..... he DID look good. Right?

my miss storm cat 06-29-2006 05:31 PM

So I guess Invasor was too much for Mayan King Bold.....

rockhardtenfan 07-01-2006 04:09 PM

Let's go Tap Day.

rockhardtenfan 07-01-2006 04:20 PM

Invasor wins.

Bold Brooklynite 07-01-2006 04:25 PM

Very professional performance by Invasor ...

... he didn't beat much ... but he did it easily and with style.

He'll be a worthy opponent for Mayan King in the Jockey Club Gold Cup ... a defeated opponent ... but a worthy one nonetheless.

LOL that will be the day.

Cunningham Racing 07-01-2006 06:13 PM

I think Invasor is pointing towards the Suburban :D

Slewbopper 07-01-2006 06:49 PM

Invasor is obviously a very nice colt. We must remember that being from the southern hemisphere, he actually turned 4 today. Two G1s since his third place finish 7 lengths behind Discreet Cat in the Dubai Derby should really flatter DS....Now when the hell will he run again.

The last line says he's possible for the Whitney.....

Miss Cat, I was referring to Discreet Cat

Oh duh... sorry!

When will he run again or will he run again? Blackthroat should answer that one.....

Pedigree Ann 07-02-2006 11:30 AM

The Godolphin horse who was second to Discreet Cat in Dubau totally bombed in the Peter Pan. The UAE Derby is looking more and more like a throw-out, especially when you consider that the two most-fancied horses, Simpatico Bribon and the Gold for Sale (each of whom had won their preps impressively) were drugged. Trainer so astonished at how they ran that he had them both tested, came up positive for Valium.

Exceller 07-02-2006 04:08 PM

In my opinion Invasor is now the top horse in the country. He could have won that race by 10 if he wanted to.

You sound like you are so right, Exceller.
What happened?
Did your guinea pig die and stop listening to you or was it your gerbil?
10 lengths...right...now that those little critters are dead, you need someone to listen to your rantings.
Thanks for your insight.
10 lengths, indeed.
Time to buy a hampster at your local pet shop...you'll have something that listens.

RIP, Piggy and Gerby.
