The Two Old Guys

The other night the two old guys were looking at Churchill Race 1 for today. They focused on the 1 horse, Who Goes There. I don't for certain if they are wagering today. I should know more later on this morning.

Exceller 06-22-2006 10:05 AM

Thats funny. I am playing that horse in a parlay with Ministers Bid. I expect even money on both. Looking to turn $250 into a quick $1000.

eurobounce 06-22-2006 10:15 AM

Dont know if you are going to get even money or not. Last night when they left my house they said they had to make a couple of calls and then they laughed. Dont know if they were serious or not. I will let you know, I have $2500 ready to lay down if they bet.

I am sticking with those two horses regardless of odds or who picks them. I liked them yesterday and I still like them both. $2500 is quite a bit for $8K claimers, but that horse and New Awakening in the 3rd at Churchill look like easy chalk winners today.

Exceller, these old guys have hit like 25 bets in a row or something, they are unreal.....

That is unreal, the only people that make real money betting are people that pick their spots and don't go betting anything else. I know a guy who gambles for a living and he only plays win bets. He gambles on all the big tracks, including the ones in Japan. You can't be an action junkie if you want to make real money gambling.

I think they have hit 14 in a row now. They only bet races that are claiming, and the purse is between $14k and $20k. They only wager on about 9 races a year. The last one they hit was at Calder. The horse was 3/2 or something like. I did find out that they have lost once in the past 4 years. They said they have 31 wins and 1 loss. Their charts are horses is unreal. I got to see "the vault" of information a few days ago. It is unreal. The only study claiming horses. But we will see what happens.

whorstman 06-22-2006 10:33 AM

I guess I would be an action junkie, but I will only bet a few bucks just for the fun. I only bet if I'm at the track and I can't just "skip" a race. I guess it's like paying for the atmosphere. I bet more on the ones I like, less on the ones I don't.

That is funny. I am learning from these guys. So far I have narrowed my wagering to three tracks. Those are Churchill, Belmont and Hollywood. Everyone once in awhile I will need a fix and wager some other track--lol. Then I will go to two tracks, Saratoga and Del Mar. Now I just need to find the races I am good at handicapping.

2 minutes is too much credit, there are times when I have 15 bets going at three tracks, all that go off within a matter of seconds.....I have crazy mouse skills to be able to see the stretch call on all three of them....

You arent too far off. They remind of the Odd Couple but who are 70 years old. One is about 6'3 and the other is about 5'8. Funny thing is their wives hate each other. Maybe that is why the two old guys hang out together so much - lol. My wife always gets caught in the middle of those two.

It's a video card with the capability to connect up to 4 monitors to a pc, it comes w/ a cable that branches off to 4 hook ups. A dual card can hook up 2 monitors as well, much less expensive, about 100-150. A quad card may be in the nieghborhood of 500 bucks. May be able to scoop one on ebay for 150 or so.

Any updates on this? I go to lunch in about 45 minutes and I was thinking of riding over to CD and plunking a little down.

Yo Whort....My guess it that this is desktop specific and unable to do with a laptop, right?

If I can do it with a laptop.....looks like my next check is gone to get two new flat screens, some cable and a video card...OH MAN!!!

Well, I hesitate to answer for fear of liable ;) , but Yes you can do it w/ a laptop. You need a full docking station to do it though. You would install the video card in the docking station. The docking station will have all the same connections that a desktop would. Probably run you about 250 or so.

Wouldn't it cause the computer to go crazy having two video cards, one in the laptop and the other connected to the docking station? All about this....Also, I nominate Whort to be the IT problem solver for Derby Trail......I know enough about computers, internal and software wise, to be above average, but I can already tell you know your ish, didn't you say you are an IT manager or something?

SO DOWN...MONITORS EVERYWHERE, TRACKS EVERYWHERE....Now opening......

Well, I'm in the IT field, but I'm no mgr. I'm a contractor, so I have had the chance to work for a lot of different companies which helps w/ experience. I'm actually at the point to where I support the techs now, so they call me with probs and such. Easiest gig I ever had. But I digress, to answer your question, no, it would be fine. Your laptop has on board video so it would revert to it when it is not docked. When you dock it, it will recognize the video card and have the extra monitor feature. I guess it would depend on the laptop to. What kind do you have? The only time I've seen it screw up is when the user jacked w/ the settings.

I'm sure it would have no problem w/ it then. Toshiba makes a real good product. My buddy just bought one a few mos ago and it is real nice. I think after rebates he got for like 350.
