The Celtics are a better road team than home team.

Next time you bet a race, lets see if you are willing to have someone eyeball a close finish you're involved in. At least in the perfect game blown call, the ground ball was partially caused by the home umpire extending the strike zone(helped the pitcher get the batter to swing at a ball way outside.) At least, on Kobe's 4th foul call, it looked like Kobe might have knocked Rondo out of bounds. He did no such thing. No foul, but that out of bounds call(Garnett's) isn't a judgement call. They blew a call that basketball refs should easily make correctly, and then didn't check the video (something they could have done with less than 2m left.) People are paying a lot of money to watch those games. WHY SHOULD THEY HAVE TO ACCEPT CALLS THAT ARE THAT POORLY MADE?

That game was ruined by the refs last night. They need to let both teams play.

A strange anomaly of this year. It means nothing during a late season play off run. The Fleet Center ain't the ole' Garden but it's not like their going to play at a neutral court. It will be loud obnoxious hot and partisan to a fault. I had forgotten how much Ray Allen hates Bryant from his early days. What a shooting display....

Pierce will play far better at home and RR will play very well at home again. The Laker's are in more trouble than the media say and Jackson knows it. I couldn't get a line on the series from the casinos this AM. Did you see one?

-2.5 Celtics.

And you're the early favorite for Homer Post of the Year.

2.5 is really light IMO.... Maybe the 6 LA was laying was just 2 much?
I guess what Im saying is this series is really even, and if LA is going to be minus 6 then Boston should be at least that.... Boston is really good, and I think they win this thing.

I asked Chuck back in like October what he thought of Boston and the Spurs... I told him I think they both have another run left in them... Im a knicks fan, but I love the Boston story... I love how they have just turned it on.
Thanks for the welcome back Coach.

True story. Another reason that Boston's reemergence was stunning

I know KG looks like hes finished, but if they can keep Ray and add maybe just one more guy, Im thinking they can do this again next year. Just kinda coast all year, and make a huge playoff move.

Even after another year, who in the East is that much better? Rondo is a monster, PP is still really good, same with Ray. The bench just plays hard, Nate and Big Baby are great role players.

I know that this will be news to you but they have this little thing called the salary cap...

Robingson is a FA, Allen is a FA, Tony Allen is a FA. They were already 27 million + the luxury tax over the cap. The only guys that they have coming off the cap are those 3 plus Scalabrine (-3 million), Daniels (-2 million), Williams (900k), Finley (300k) and 2 guys you never heard of (1.4)

Allen is going to look for a three year deal for around 30 million. You want to be paying him 10 million a year when he is 38? Pierce makes 21 million next year and then is a FA. He is in decline. KG makes 40 million over the next 2 years. Wallace makes 15 million over the same period. The only guy signed to a positive contract is Rondo. They caught a huge break signing him to a long term, now looking undervalued deal. Perkins has another year then he is going to be a 8-10 million dollar a year player.

So if you sign Allen what do you do after next year?

Good Points Chuck, maybe they win this one and blow it all up and try to rebuild. I love Allen, but I dont give him 3 for 30 at this point.

The problem is that What do they do with Pierce next year? Same question as they have with Allen. And they have 2 more years of KG who has slipped to the level of a player making 1/2 of what he makes. Wallace is another problem and he cant even be used as a contract dump in a trade because he has a player option next year which he surely will exercise and also has a 15% trade kicker that teams will be loathe to pay. They surely knew this when they made these deals but it is refreshing to see them knowingly paint themselves in a corner to try to win now unlike the Phillies who traded Cliff Lee for non prospects to save money instead of riding him and Halladay to the WS this year.

I have thought of PP as a top 10 player for the last 10 years... I have said put him with Shaq on those Laker teams and they still win the titles. I dont know what to do with him at this point? I thought Wallace was a giant pick up for this year, and he did guard Dwight really good and still makes some big shots, but he is another one who after this year likely wont have much left....
What is the Celtics starting 5 next year, In your opinion?
